North Korea Uses Malaysian Bank for Weapons Payment

The Korea Times

The transaction of North Korea’s suspected shipment of weapons to Myanmar, currently being carried on a freighter tracked by the U.S. Navy, was planned to be paid through a bank in Malaysia and the visit by a U.S. envoy to Malaysia this weekend will focus on ways to cut off the payment transaction, Yonhap reported Saturday citing an unnamed “high-level” source.

“Kim Jong-il will have a hard time collecting his money,” the high-level source said, speaking strictly on condition of anonymity. The source declined to identify the bank due to diplomatic concerns.

Philip Goldberg, the U.S. coordinator for the implementation of a U.N. Security Council resolution that punishes North Korea for its May 25 nuclear test, is scheduled to arrive in Malaysia on Sunday.

The visit comes after the White House said late last month that U.S. President Barack Obama discussed North Korea and financial regulations with Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razakon by phone.

It also comes as North Korea’s Kang Nam freighter is apparently returning home after being tracked by a U.S. Navy destroyer that suspects it is carrying cargo banned under the resolution.

The U.N. Resolution 1874, which reinforced sanctions that were imposed after North Korea conducted its first nuclear test in 2006, bans Pyongyang from exporting any type of weapons. It also bans nations from making financial transactions with North Korea.

According to another source in Seoul, the Kang Nam is believed to be carrying small Soviet-era arms such as AK-47 rifles and RPG-7 anti-tank launchers.

AK-47s and RPG-7s are two of the most widely traded Soviet-era weapon types that North Korea is capable of producing on its own.

The U.S. believes there are “multiple” North Korean ships used to export weapons.

Dear brother Anwar, I take it that your objections are purely on the merit that Myanmar is the (justified) target and not America’s enemy “NK”. Indeed the Malaysian minister(s) involve should be reprimanded as this “inhumane”corruption flies in the hope of aiding the unjust regime in Myanmar. Please brother lets participate in the same vigorous manner against the injustices America the State of Israel Thailand and the continued war of occupation in Afghanistan lest we interpret your support for justice as a vindication of UN hypocrisy, not to mention US selective punishment and attempts to cripple non-compliant states. At lest be balance in your condemnations. America holds more blood on its hands than any other country with the exception of the Illegal state of Israel. Germany provide the Zionist regime with Dolphin Submarines with specially bored tubes to facilitate nuclear missiles. Japan has launched and tested far more nuclear missiles capable vehicles than all of ASIA put together. Japan do have a history of aggression and is a member of the coalition of the willing which invaded and caused the deaths of 1.3 million Iraqis thus far.
    Sincerely
    Ghifari Al Mukhtar

Burma probably need protection and this is the pure reason for investing into weapons. Oil , Oil a plenty there and the oil pipe lines will attract many countries who are eyeing those commodities.

Burma once again will be a ‘target’ if they are not wise enough. However if the transaction is traced to Malaysia – then some eager profiteers are really making the big bucks irregardless of safety to mankind. These people are ‘dangerous’ .

Helping them is like self destructing to our own homeland / Thailand / Vietnam and Cambodia. See how MONEY can make the world goes round and round.

Remember what goes around comes around. Stop the destruction to mankind NOW before its too late.

WEAPONS is not only for protection but self destruct as well. Help to build a better world. Do not just use national security as an excuse for just anything in order to deviate the attention of the people. WE KNOW.
