KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has slammed the decision of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to clear Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail and Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan of any wrongdoing on the fabrication of evidence relating to the ‘black-eye’ incident.
Anwar said he felt disgusted that the two were not charged despite strong evidence and documents provided to the authorities.
“I believe there is a cover up,” he told reporters at the parliament lobby today.
Anwar said he had recently written to every member of the Advisory Panel of the MACC highlighting his plight, adding that he hoped the panel members would look at the ‘black-eye’ evidence thoroughly and reopen the case.
“I think it is very unfortunate that in a case like this, they (MACC) just brush it aside,” he added.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Nazri Abdul Aziz told the Dewan Rakyat that a three-man independent panel has cleared Gani and Musa of any wrongdoing against Anwar on fabrication of evidence relating to the ‘black-eye’ incident.
Anwar was beaten while in police custody in 1998 by the then IGP Tan Sri Rahim Noor and suffered injuries including on his left eye which has since been referred to the infamous ‘black-eye’ incident.
The Opposition leader said it was paramount to know what was submitted to the three-man panel to deliberate, stressing that a general report on the black-eye without the medical reports and facts attached might not carry much weight to prefer charges on the AG and IGP.
“You think it’s easy to bring a case against the AG and IGP with such evidence? It is very tough,” he pointed out.
Anwar said he was out to prove a point that there was abuse in the current system as allegations brought against VVIPs were often shot down, adding that investigation into the fabrication of evidence on the ‘black-eye’ was a typical case of such abuse.
Asked whether there was any response by the 12-member Advisory Panel of the MACC, he replied: “Not yet, they will probably take some time.”
On whether there is room for appeal, he said: “It is not a matter of appeal. The MACC has decided there is no case to pursue against the AG and IGP.”

As expected!!!!!MACC is unable to handle high profile cases.better give them cases which is bit less challenging, like ‘lembu’ or cars perhaps……………

Dato Sri,
Ketelusan dan kewibawaan panel mengadili AG dan IGP boleh dipertikaikan! Saya setuju seperti saranan atas.
The fact that the score 2-1 in favor of AG dari panel sebegini sudah menyedihkan.

All is not lost lah. Only the MACC cleared Gani Patail and not the Court of law.
The investigation rpt cld be resurfaced again when PR led the government. There is a prima facie case to prosecute Gani Patail. One of the three ex-judges thinks so. Gani shld be prosecuted and it shld be left to the court to decide his guilt or innocence.
The law is: once a court has tried a case and comes to the finding that the accused is not guilty, then there is nothing you can do. But if only Macc says no case, it means nothinglah.
My take is, Ahmad Said wants to protect Gani Patail. They asked one ex-judge to scrutinize the case. This ex-judge says there is a case. Unhappy with it, they sent the paper to another ex-judge who then says there is no case. To cover up their track they sent the paper to another ex-judge who says there is no case also. Then they are very happy. Two agst one says no case. They can close the file.
Assuming, the 3rd ex-judge says there is a case, then they will sent the paper to another 4th judge until they can get as many ex-judges to say there is no case against Gani patail compared to those who say there is a case.

Who are those in the panel? I think they must be those who have been selected to do the job in favor of the AG and the IGP. This is not surprising when it comes to who is the one who had chosen those guys for the panel. The panel cannot be making any “mistake” to get the IGP and the AG into court which would be very harmful for the present BN govt.
However any primary school child could clearly see their wrong doing on how they lied about the whole case. The 2 culprit can still have the chick to hold on to their office despite committing the biggest lie to the people about the case.
By being so they are in fact telling the people that those in such positions can lie if it is for the sake of the BN govt and that is what BN justice is all about.

The panel need to justify to the public on what basis did they found AG and IGP cleared of allegations of fabricating evidence relating to the ‘black-eye’ incident. They simply cannot clear off without rightful justification.

I can only sympathize with DSAI, before the case is even heard, the general public already know what the verdict will be. The only consolation thought was, we were correct in our opinion of this corrupted judiciary. It is not surprising of the evil hands at work but, it is most sickening and a disgusting.
If PR ever came to power, the first thing they must do is to overhaul completely the judiciary systemand other Institutions…. bring all those corrupted scumbags to book. PR have to salvage all the Institutions to regain for Malaysia some form respectability.

AllahuAkbar.

Say no and do not vote UMNO/BN in any elections in the future…
As the “Rakyat” it is our responsibilities to “CHOOSE” and “CHANGE” current government .. we have to educate peoples around us .. why they must not choose and vote UMNO/BN …
1.) Judiciary system totally rotten!!! People with power such as UMNO/BN leaders are above the rule of law. i.e Althantuya cases, under age cases with VIP, etc too many to mention!
2.) The corruption in politics and through out the entire systems in Malaysia will lead us like Philippines and Indonesia that will destruct Malaysia prosperity and economy permanently. UMNO/BN government could not control the corruption because their own leader was choosen by so called “money politics”.
3.) Only from truely Islam teaching base on Al Quran and Sunnah will gave Malaysia justice to every races and every religions. Those Budhha, Christian etc and Chinese, Indians, Kadazans etc will safe and get their own justice under Al Quran and Sunnah. Just look at Kelantan for example. UMNO/BN through medias such as Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian, RTM, TV3 and others gave a bad perceptions to Kelantan but now, the truth is prevail itself.
Malaysia will not “jahanam” if Pakatan Rakyat given mandate.
Malaysia will not “mati” if UMNO/BN were not the government anymore.
Wake up from your dreams and paranoia!
