PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court here unanimously gave the green light to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to challenge the constitutionality of his sacking from Cabinet posts almost 10 years ago by former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Following this outcome, the Federal Court will determine two questions of law – whether Anwar’s sacking was unconstitutional or not, and whether Dr Mahathir could sack his deputy, without first advising the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
The court has yet to fix the date to hear Anwar’s final appeal. Anwar was ordered by the court to file the record of appeal within 14 days.
On Dec 23, 1998, the High Court dismissed Anwar’s suit against Dr Mahathir and the Government, to summarily strike out his application for an order to declare Dr Mahathir’s decision to dismiss him from the Cabinet posts on Sept 2, 1998 was unlawful and null and void.
The Court of Appeal had held that Anwar’s sacking from the Cabinet posts was lawfully executed by Dr Mahathir since the power to appoint and dismiss ministers lay with the prime minister. – Bernama

mahathir only managed to do it bcos he had all the Government instruments including the judiciary in his hands. I hope Malaysians have learnt what absolute power given to one mad man can do to the nation.
mahathir should be tried in a proper court and not a kangaroo court in Malaysia. how can a muslim ,who talks about atrocities committed by the west towards the muslim world so much, commit a crime such as this to a fellow Muslim.

Since now the PM is going to get Dr M, and I belief the court is still under the control of the executive. May be this will play into the hand of DSAI.

Mahathir and now the Badawi are dictators! They should really be put on trial (at least they’ll get a fair trial); together with Ketua Polis Negara and AG, and many more of course; and feel how the rakyat and YB feel when tortured under false arrest, imprisonment and injustice such as under ISA! Isn’t that’s what true Islam or true justice is supposed to be like? So PAS, instead of demonstrating ridiculously against women-not-in-veil who want to be free and equal, why not focus your energy on bringing all these dictators and criminals to justice! And that’s not witch-hunt like what the Umno goons are doing but pursuing justice!
I really hope you get that abortion which unfortunately survived and left us in the mess that we are in today. Datuk seri adalah idola saya semenjak dari bangku sekolah, sejak lama dahulu…
saya mengikuti perkembangan kisah riwayat hidup, perjalanan suka dan duka datuk seri.

dijentik telinga tp tidak mengaum, tetapi keluar taring dan kukunya, mencakar tanah memberi
amaran kepulangan.

Selepas tersenyum, saya termenung pula, fikiran saya jauh melayang, di saat orang semua memuji
dan memuja DSAI, di seberang sungai pula, di kampung sebelah orang yang bukan seperahu dengan
