Lawatan sambil belajar anjuran Ahli Dewan Negeri (ADUN) DAP Sekinchan, Ng Suee Lim meninjau banglo milik bekas Menteri Besar Selangor, Datuk Seri Dr. Mohamad Khir Toyo di Seksyen 7 di sini pagi tadi berakhir dengan demonstrasi.

Rombongan yang disertai 40 pengundi dari kawasan Sekinchan dan Sungai Panjang tiba di banglo Dr. Khir kira-kira pukul 10.40 pagi dengan sebuah bas persiaran.

Mereka menghabiskan masa kira-kira sejam untuk meninjau lebih dekat banglo itu yang telah mencetuskan kontroversi kerana dikatakan bernilai RM24 juta.

“Setiap seorang daripada kami membayar sebanyak RM50 bagi menyertai rombongan ini bagi melihat sendiri istana luar biasa bernilai RM24 juta ini. (more…)

Menyelak helaian demi helaian Hikayat Hang Tuah, pastinya kita akan terkesan dengan pesan-pesan untuk bersikap jujur, amanah dan sentiasa bijak agar tidak terpedaya dengan helah musuh. Antaranya apabila ditemukan babak menyedihkan; ketika Hang Tuah menikam Hang Jebat.

Tuah berpegang kepada janji pendekar yang hanya akan menikam sekali merobek Jebat, tidak akan ada tikaman kedua. Selepas berjaya, berjalan keluar, tiba-tiba menerpa Jebat menikam Tuah dari belakang, namun gagal mencederakannya, berkat amanah memegang janji.

Pesan yang sama disampaikan kepada para pendekar gayong, bersempena majlis penganugerahan keris pusaka Dato Meor Abdul Rahman yang disimpan Dato Cikgu Majid kepada saya. Majlis tersebut diadakan demi melaksanakan wasiat almarhum mahaguru gayong yang berhasrat saya mewarisi keris tersebut.

Seusai acara di Daerah Yan, saya menghadiri majlis taklimat khas memperkasakan Pakatan Rakyat bersama-sama ahli Keadilan Kedah sebelum ke Masjid Bukit Besar untuk menyampaikan tazkirah maghrib. Kemudiannya saya mengambil peluang menziarahi Tuan Guru Haji Salleh Musa di Pondok Sik. Namun saya kesal kerana hanya berkesempatan berucap sekitar 30 minit di markaz Pas Sg Pau di hadapan ribuan penyokong Pakatan Rakyat kerana terpaksa bergegas ke KLIA.

The wife of Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, on Sunday morning personally went to the wake of former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino at the La Salle Greenhills in San Juan City to pay her last respects to the international icon of democracy, who died on Saturday.

“I feel deeply the loss not only for the Filipinos but for me personally,” Wan Azizah said, adding that she considered the late Mrs. Aquino as a close friend. She arrived at the wake around 10:45 a.m. and expressed her condolences and support to the Aquino family.

Wan Azizah is regarded by some political observers as Mrs. Aquino’s counterpart in Malaysia.

Ibrahim, in a statement read by his wife Azizah, said that the Malaysian people have viewed the former Philippine leader an iconic figure.

“The Malaysian people have a special reason to view her as an iconic figure. Their striving for a return of their country to the dispensation entrusted to it by its founding Constitution mirrors hers and Ninoy’s successful struggle to return the Filipino nation to the promise of Jose Rizal’s legacy,” he added. Ninoy was former Sen. Benigno Aqino Jr., Cory’s husband who was assassinated in 1983. Jose Rizal is the National Hero of the Philippines.
