MENGINSAFI TENTANG MARUAH BANGSA MELAYU DAN BAHASANYA YANG SUDAH BEGITU LAMA MENGHATI DI NEGARA INI, DAN MELAYU MENJADI LAMNBANGG TERKENAL DALAM SEJARAH DI ALAM MELAYU, BERIKUT KAMI PETURUNKAN PENDAPAT DR AQ MENJAWAB AKAN PEDRNYATAAN DR AMIRULHakim nordin DALAM LAMAN WEB PEMUDA UMNO MALAYSIA. DR AQ TIDAK MENJADI SEBARANG ANGGOTA PARTI POLITIK.Dr Amirulhakimi Nordin
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^JAWAPAN :
(2)~ a) Ini bukan “konon” tetapi sungguh.
    * Sekolah Rendah : : BM 60% ; BI 40%
    * Sekolah Menegah : Tingkatan 3~ : BM 62% ; BI : 38%
    Tingkatan 4 & 5 Sastera : BM 56% ; BI 44%
    Tingkatan 4 & 5 Sains : BM 36% ; BI 64%
    Tingkatan 4 & 5 Biologi : BM 33%; BI 67%
    Tingkatan 4 & 5 Reka Cipta : BM 32% ; BI 68%
    Tingkatan 4 & 5 Akaun : BM 47%; BM 53%
    SPM : BM 29% ; BI 71%
    Tingkatan 6 Sastera : BM 60% ; BI 40%
    * UNIVERSITI BM : Hanya Kursus Sastera & Pengajian Islam
Sebab Malaysia disebut menyerlahkan perangkaan hebat [impressionistic] ^^^^^^^^^
SANGGAHAN Lanjut (penuh) telah dikirimkan kepada Dr Amirulhakim melalaui Laman Web Pemuda UMNO Malaysia. SEHINGGA SAAT INI KAMI BELUM MENEMUI SIARANNYA.

    • v.4 : If the object of a Message is to make things clear, it must be delivered in the language current among the people to whom the Messenger is sent. Through them it can reach all mankind. There is even a wider meaning for “language”. It is not merely a question of alphabets, letters, or words. Each age or people-or world in a psychological sense- casts its thoughts in a certain mould or form. Allah’s Message-being universal-can be expressed in all moulds and forms, and is equally valid and necessary for all grades of humanity, and must therefore be explained to each according to his or her capacity or receptivity. In this respect the Qur-in is marvellous. It is for the simplest as well as the most advanced.
    * ’Whom He pleases’; the usual expression for Mashiyat, the universal Will and Plan, which is afl-wise and on the highest plane of goodness and righteousness.

that wills [to go astray], and guides him that wills [to be guided] – for He alone is almighty, truly wise.
    ________________________________________
    • * v.4 : Since every divine writ was meant to be understood by man, it is obvious that each had to be formulated in the language of the people whom the particular prophet was addressing in the first instance; and the Qur’?n – notwithstanding its universal import (cf. note 126 on 7:158) – is no exception in this respect.
    * Or: “God lets go astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills.” All Qur’anic references to God’s “letting man go astray” must be understood against the background of 2:26-27 – “none does He cause to go astray save the iniquitous, who break their bond with God” (regarding which latter expression, see s?rah 2, note 19): that is to say, man’s “going astray” is a consequence of his own attitudes and inclinations and not a result of an arbitrary “predestination” in the popular sense of this word (cf. s?rah 2, note 7). In his commentary on the above verse, Zamakhshar? stresses this aspect of free choice on the part of man and points out that “God does not cause anyone to go astray except one who, as He knows, will never attain to faith; and He does not guide anyone aright except one who, as He knows, will attain to faith. Hence, the [expression] ‘causing to go astray’ denotes [God’s] leaving [one] alone (takhliyah) and depriving [him] of all favour, whereas [the expression] ‘guidance’ denotes [His] grant of fulfilment (tawf?q) and favour…. Thus, He does not forsake anyone except those who deserve to be forsaken, and does not bestow His favour upon anyone except those who deserve to be favoured.” Commenting on the identical phrase occurring in 16:93, Zamakhshar? states: “[God] forsakes him who, as He knows, will [consciously] choose to deny the truth and will persevere in this [denial]; and…He bestows His favour upon him who, as He knows, will choose faith: which means that He makes the issue dependent on [man’s] free choice (al-ikhtiy?r), and thus on his deserving either [God’s] favour or the withdrawal of [His] aid…and does not make it dependent on compulsion [i.e., predestination], which would rule out [man’s] deserving anything of the above.” ~AHMAD ~210409~

We need to look at how best can the children of Malaysia be served through multiple languages and through the importance of the English Language. We need to step back – many steps – and look at our philosophy of education, our paradigm of teaching and learning, our training of teachers, our caste and class system in our ‘information-overloaded’ educational system, our politician’s constant interference in schools and in controlling the minds of our children and our teachers, our destiny as a multicultural nation demanding us to master multi-linguistic possibilities, and finally how we have built in successes and failures into our school system.
    A REPUBLIC OF VIRTUE

    Dr. Azly Rahman ( dr.azly.rahman@gmail.com )
    http://azlyrahman-illuminations.blogspot.com/
Nationalists are nationalists. Some remain rooted in the language which shaped their personal reality, in a world of shifting views and multiple interpretations in which one become sub-texts of both Grand and Subaltern narrative.
Nationalist are nationalists. In a postmodern world, we sometimes do not know who the enemy of these nationalist are. Perhaps the enemy lies within. Fear of one’s own shadow?
Nationalists are nationalists. They can remain so. They need to evolve into globalists grounded in the love of many cultures, still.
    Dr.Ahmad Kamar :
1~ a) What is the meaning of philosophy ? . Who are the philosophers ? Who is the philosopher of education ?
    b) Who coined the term “nationalist” ? What are the elements that conclude someone as a nationalist ?
    c) Then how about yourself ? Are you really free from all sorts of values in your rites de passage. There are no longer sentimental attachments in yourself ? No Malay [sian] esprit de corps to be referred to ?
    d) Which global patterns of “culture” should be adapted by the Malays and Malaysians : British, German, French, or Anglo saxon ? American ? Chinese ? Arabic?

Perhaps like many, I am an advocate of the critical importance of the English Language as, at this point in history, a language not only of commerce, the arts and humanities, but also an inspiration for revolutionary movements that challenges colonialism and imperialism as well. In order to understand the enemy, one must speak its language. Stamford Raffles knew this well when he was sent to the Singapura to be christened as its “founder”.
    e) How many languages should be introduced to Malaysians : English, Chinese, Tamil, Urdu, Arabic Japanese, Javanese, Latin or ESPERANTO ? We foresee that the Malay language and culture may not be retained in the future amidst the background of a neo-emerging pattern of universal culture.
    f) How do you understand and interpret the Al Quran : see Surah Ibrahim (14) : ayat 04 which has a focus on language ?
    ????? ??????????? ??? ???????? ?????? ????????? ???????? ??????????? ?????? ????????? ??????? ??? ??????? ????????? ??? ??????? ?????? ?????????? ?????????? }
And We have not sent any Messenger except with the tongue, with the language, of his people, that he might make [the Message] clear to them, that he might make them understand what he brings to them; God then sends astray whomever He will and He guides whomever He will; and He is the Mighty, in His kingdom, the Wise, in His actions.

**For further explanation please refer to the footnotes : “the language” and ” He pleases” of the same ayat or any ayat in the al-Quran . For tafsir you may refer to other scholars..
    g) The statement you mentioned above is only one side of the silver coin of which only the written values were seen. Many people are chasing the air balloon. We should value the gold and not the dinar coin.
    h) “National” historians [materials based on the physical and metaphysical factors] write and interpret the events of yesterday based on Ibn Khaldun’ s guidelines ; not by Western and colonial versions or Greco-Roman concepts.

The enemy is corruption and social cancer wrought by casino capitalism, spoken in English globalized by high speed Internet, mutating the mind, body, and soul of natives and savages transforming them into neo-colonials. The enemy is the dimension of language that installs regimes and systems of oppression that leeches off blood sweat and tears of the natives transformed into indentured post-modern slaves. The English language of the modern imperialism system and the Gog and Magog of the maddening capitalist world is the enemy.

Many a revolutionary writer opposed to colonialism wrote in the English Language – from Jonathan Swift to Joseph Conrad, from Eric Blair (George Orwell) to V. S. Naipaul, from Karl Marx to Raymond Williams.
    i) “Philosophically” for centuries, the world had been trapped inside the “flying balloon” of ‘Greco-Roman Philosophy’, enjoying grand values of materialism. That balloon is now leaking waiting for replacement.
Of course for Malaysian children we do not expect them to be passionate of the Greek mythology, the philosophy behind Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels, The Chronicles of Narnia, or translation of Ramayana and Mahabharata, or even the Adventures of Asterix – we hope this will one day be a reality when we throw away our TV sets and ASTRO channels or our iPods or Blackberry. And start reading.
Of course this is a long road for Malaysian children to be engaged in world literature in (English) translation and be a little be more learned and refined and to expunge any sense of racial superiority such as “ketuanan this or that”.
Long road to freedom. There is a reality at hand. When a Malay poet laureate and a chief of a language preservation council (I hope this is a close enough translation of ‘dewan bahasa dan pustaka’) and a hundred other Malay Language jihadists were pepper-sprayed for protesting against the English as a language of instruction, we have got a national problem.
What is the message? What is being symbolized? What is the signification? What is the issue? What is the non-issue? Where is the sensibility? Where is pride? Where is prejudice? Where are we taking this argument?
    These are difficult questions.
Essentially, in my opinion, the value of teaching the applications aspects of Science and Maths in English is that hopefully the teachers will work harder with the students to master the lingua franca. Perhaps later, when there is mastery, teachers and learners themselves can explore the humanities and social scientific aspects of Maths and Science, and ultimately in their later years understand the philosophical and political–economic aspects of the two “subjects”. One may then, in one’s old age, read the biography of Sir Isaac Newton, Rene Descartes, Henri Poincare, Paul Erdosh, Albert Einstein, Steven Hawkings, etc. Or even read translations of Hamzah Fansuri or Ibnu Arabi.
    j) Essentially too, dedicated teachers who master the national language as well as the English Language and other languages should be passionate enough to translate the essentials of science and teach its essence so as to ensure that the students master the basics. Science and mathematics have their own language, one does not need to be a master of the English Language to be a master of Mathematics. We have seen English convent students performing superbly in English dramas on stage but perform poorly in Mathematics, and kampong students in the seventies and eighties performing well in these subjects winning scholarships to Japan. The essentials of Mathematics and Science need to be taught in the language the student is conversant in, and we sincerely hope that the first language of Malaysians remain the Malaysian language.
    k) English language should be taught well, complete with grammar and English Literature as part of the subject. We acknowledge its importance as one of the lingua franca. If taught well, more Malaysians would see the importance of continuing to preserve the Malaysian language at the same time. The culture would be richer and we foresee more English –Malay translations of major books.
English Language is one important vehicle for such exploration.

My question is: what is the fate of linguistic nationalists in the age of globalization and deconstructionism? For whom will such nationalists continue to serve? But ultimately, why are the adults arguing for the next generation when the former should be allowing the latter to chart their own intellectual future?
    l) The adults are the parents of the next generation. Who decided on your schooling ?
    2) Hopefully I can show you the result s of

Or– could the answer be in the passion for teaching and the need for an entirely new pedagogy?
    2) [I am now contacting Prof. Dr Mat Rofa bin Ismail, ( Mathematician), UPM) to get the results of the mathematics examination in national languages held in overseas : What I was told that China has got the first whist England using English got number 30th (?). I am very sorry if this statement is incorrect.}. His latest paper tabled at Daral Hikmah, 0n 19 April, 2000 : BENARKAH PPSMI MEMPERTAHANKAN NEGARA ? (28 PAGES. )
We are only beginning to peel the layers of complexity of the issue of teaching of Science and Maths in English. We need to go beyond the data and conclusion presented mundanely passed as the ultimate truth why we need to teach Science and Maths in the Malay Language.
We need to rise above the simplicity of concluding, the reductionism of our arguments, and the shallowness of our claim of the need to be ultra-nationalistic about the language of instruction to be used.
Daunting task for us. Requiring supra-nationalist thinking.

But if, in Malaysia, linguistic nationalists are merely players in a world’s-a-stage build by ‘tuans of this and that ethnic group’ under the ideological direction of ‘ketuanan this and that,’ we must rewrite the script.
Language shapes reality. Or maybe language is reality. Or maybe, in the case of the nationalist, language confines reality. Their reality.

In multicultural Malaysia, in a world past post- and hypermodernity, our language policy ought to make possible multiple realities, multiple worlds or knowing. So that our children may become world-wise Malaysians.

SEKIAN. SEMOGA MUNCUL YANG HAQ DALAM SARINGAN KEKERUHAN FIKIRAN YANG BERGELUMANG DENGAN TUJUAN HIDUP KEBENDAAN MELAMPAU. Maaf. ~ahmad~ kiriman 24 April, 2009.

I want to comment on point i) in your post. i think we can do more things before we are ready to throw our TVs and BlackBerries out. You speak about literature and it is very good that people can read books on their mobile phones – one does not need to carry a whole big book. I often read when I have to wait on a queue or at the airport for a late flight and as I not always read in my native language, I sometimes use translation programs to help me understand the text ( the latest I used was a BlackBerry translator by Inmterlecta htto:home.interlecta.com/mobile ). Education is a good things and literature helps a lot for children’s development as people but we have to be very careful what they read!

    BAHASA MELAYU SEBAGI BAHASA KEBANGSAAN!

    BAHASA ENGLISH SEBAGI BAHASA KEDUA!

KERAJAAN TIDAK PERLU PEDULIKAN BAHASA TAMIL & CINA…
SELAGI 2 BAHASA INI DIJADI BAHASA PENGANTAR, TIDAK AKAN WUJUD
    SATU BANGSA MALAYSIA!

TETAPI KAUM BUKAN MELAYU ADALAH BEBAS UTK BERTUTUR DALAM BAH CINA & TAMIL
DI RUMAH2 MEREKA!HANYA KITA JANGAN MENGALAKKAN MENJADI BAHASA PENGANTAR
    DI SEKOLAH2 KERAJAAN!

RTM TIDAK PERLU MENYIAR BERITA DALAM BAHASA TAMIL & CINA KERANA GENERASI
MUDA SEKARANG LEBIH MEMAHAMI BAHASA MELAYU & ENGLISH!

SEKIRANYA MAU MENYIAR NEWS DLM BAHASA CINA/TAMIL..SILAKAN SIAR DI
    TV ASTRO &TV 3 & TV 9!

TAPI PELAJAR2 SEMUA KAUM HARUS DIGALAK UTK MENGAMBIL BAHASA CINA SEBAGAI
    1 SUBJEK OPTIONAL SAHAJA!

SEKIRANYA TIDAK PANDAI BAHASA ENGLISH…. ALAMAT KUCAR KACIRLAH BILA
PELAJAR2 KITA NAK MELANJUT PELAJARAN DI LUAR NEGARA YG BAHASA PENGANTAR
    ADALAH ENGLISH!

KALAU TAU SETAKAT TAU CKP BAHASA ENGLISH PERKATAAN..YES NO, MY NAME IS HISHAM
PARAHLAH SISTEM PENDIDIKAN TINGGI DI MSIA!
