A high-level investigation has ‘confirmed’ that current attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail had abused his power to fabricate evidence in Anwar Ibrahim’s trials 10 years ago, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
The claim was made by veteran politician Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timor, left) while debating the Budget 2009 this morning.
Quoting unnamed sources, Lim told the House that he understands that solicitor-general Idrus Harun had carried out an investigation into the claims in July.
“I have come to know the solicitor-general has concluded that the AG had indeed abused his power to fabricate evidence against the Permatang Pauh MP (Anwar) and I am asking him to resign immediately now,” said Lim.
“How can we allow a criminal (to serve) as AG? What is happening to Malaysia?”
The allegation that Abdul Gani (left) and inspector-general of police Musa Hassan (right) had fabricated evidence in Opposition Leader Anwar’s trials 10 years ago resurfaced last week in a retired cop’s court documents.
Mat Zain Ibrahim, who had led the probe in the infamous ‘black eye incident’ involving Anwar in 1998, implied in the documents that Abdul Gani had delayed the investigation process and concealed important facts in the case from then AG, the late Mohtar Abdullah.
Abdul Gani was a senior deputy public prosecutor at the time.
Anwar had made a similar claim against Abdul Gani and Musa in a police report in July, but the duo have denied the allegation.
The police chief has since filed a defamation suit against Anwar while Abdul Gani has threatened to do so as well.
Lim later told reporters in the Parliament lobby that the probe had been launched after Anwar filed the report.
The DAP stalwart was involved this morning in a fiery exchange with government backbenchers, trading barbs likening one another to orang utan.
No government in the world works honestly.They build their cases according to their whims and fancies.It was made possible before this election.Everything is surfacing and many more unjustified verdicts will make our judiciary a puppet like sesrvant of the UMNO/BN led government.I think it will be a mammoth task to get justice so let us work towards a government by the people for the people.

I would love to believe lim kit siang but ONLY if he dares uttered such claim outside the parliament. There is no point claiming something without naming the source, least the evidence. For now, he is just as good as an outdated politician who could only take pot shots at the ruling government. Just like a tiger without its claws.
But one thing for sure, he shares something in common with Jack Nicholson. If you look closely he resembles very much with the great actor, who acted as the joker in the box-office film, Batman. At least for Jack, he made his fortune but for ‘twin brother’ lim, what he could only afford to do is only to make a fool of himself.

Yg saya betul betul pelik ni, mcm mana org yg mengaku diri sebagai Islam atau Muslim boleh buat kerja kerja tak senonoh ni semua.
Apa kata kita suruh dia SUMPAH??? Tak payah lah kat Masjid Wilayah. Di kantor AG pun jadi lah. Dengan SUMPAH dia boleh kata dia tak bersalah. Lepas tu sesiapa yg dia tangkap pun kena angkat SUMPAH sama ada ada buat kesalahan atau tidak.
Bayang kan berapa juta ringgit yg kita dapat jimat. Tak payah ada Hakim, peguam bela atau pendakwa raya. Cuma ada satu AG, kerja dia cuma suruh org angkat SUMPAH.
Saya pun nak SUMPAH lah. “Aku bersumpah akan lari dengan pakai boxer saja di keliling rumah aku jika MAN UTD menang Champions League lagi’…. Sama jenis sumpah ke ni. Alah bedal lah.

Semasa zaman Firaun dulu, dia kata dia tuhan sebab dia boleh menghidupkan dan mematikan manusia. Sesiapa yang tidak mengikut perintah akan dipancung iaitu dimatikan dan sesiapa yang mengikut perintah akan dihidupkan. Kesimpulannya zaman tetap sama, iaitu peristiwa berlaku dibumi bukan dilangit, pelakunnya berubah tetapi perangai tetap sama.Mereka yang berkuasa tidak boleh dibantah nescaya dicampak,dihina,diaibkan,dibogelkan,dipukul sampai lembik (kalau boleh sampai mati).Jadi,tuan2 dan puan2 fikirlah sendiri siapa yang baik dan siapa yang jahat.Watak2 dalam drama cuma ada 2 sahaja iaitu seorang baik dan seorang jahat.Seperti zaman Firaun memang cukup ramai pengikutnya dan yang menentangnya cuma Nabi Musa a.s.dan segelintir pengikutnya,tetapi akhirnya Firaun dan para pengikutnya dibenamkan Allah swt kedalam laut.Jadi sebagai manusia yang diberi akal fikiran oleh Allah swt kita kena ambil iktibar dari peristiwa ini kerana sejarah sentiasa berulang kembali, sebab itu Allah swt mencatitkan peristiwa itu kedalam AlQuran supaya kita sentiasa mengigatinya.Sekarang ianya sedang berlaku lagi…..fikir2kanlah….wassalam
