Anwar and DAP leaders convey Aidilfitri greetings

PETALING JAYA: Syawal should be a month to celebrate brotherhood and fraternity, Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

The month was also for celebrating victory in fighting against desires during Ramadan and also against cruelty and injustice.

“I, on behalf of my family and Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s leaders and grassroots, would like to wish Salam Aidilfitri to all Muslims in Malaysia and throughout the world,” he said in a statement yesterday.

DAP national chairman Karpal Singh said Hari Raya was a time for Muslims to extend forgiveness which could be a launching pad for better and cordial relationship among Malaysians irrespective of race or religion.

“We should resolve, in the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, to make greater efforts to once again get back to the position before May 13, 1969 when all races in the country had shown commendable resilience in forging unity despite our diversity,” he said.

DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang also wished all Muslims Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

He, however, urged those celebrating to think of Raja Petra Kamarudin and others, including the five Hindraf leaders, detained under the ISA whom he said should be released immediately.

    anakdemokrasi,

Selamat Hari Raya to you DSAI, your family, PKR and Pakatan leaders, Whistle we celebrate the Hari Raya with our Muslim bros n sis, I feel sad for our bro RPK who cannot celebrate with his family. Everyday I look out for latest news for his freedom, sadly none to be seen. I would think the only hope for him to be free is for you, DSAI to swiftly assume the position as our PM. I be looking forward to that day and pls make it soon so that RPK dont have to half dead by then.

According to report in MsiaKini, Pak Lah just smile looking at the guests ‘anti ISA’ and ‘Hindraf’group during his Hari Raya Open house. He is smiling, when the families are suffering. What a heartless leader that this nation is blessed with. Over to you Pakatan Rakyat, push harder.

There have been numerous appeals from the opposition and the general public that the government abolish the ISA. I wonder whether they have take heed with regard to the appeals. Why proclaim time and time again that you are a caring government. Worse is the PM who used to say, “I HEAR YOU” So in actuality if you had heard then you should discuss with the Home Minister about releasing the ISA detainees. In so doing you can be sure that you have gain the public’ trust. Even if you leave the PM post in the near future, you will be greatly respected and remembered by the general public. Not forgeting the international community, I do believe that they back you 100%. I hope you will read this. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Dear DSAI, Mr Karpal Singh, Mr Lim Kit Siang and last but not certainly the least, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s leaders and grassroots!

My Salam Aidilfitri to one and all! May the Almighty give you all the strength and courage to continue with your struggle to bring about genuine changes in Malaysia in the months ahead!

I was at JBJ’s (J B Jeyaratnam, the late opposition leader from Singapore) wake today. I would like to share this comment which was passed on amongst the visitors present - “Is it not ironical that the party JBJ formed just before he passed on has a name identical to that of the Reformasi that Anwar Ibrahim set up in Malaysia”?! Singapore has certainly lost a good and courageous opposition leader!

May his soul rest in peace!

I just saw the BIG HYPOCRITE EX MIC LEADER SAMY VELU, criticising the Selangor State govt for the demolition of the Hindu temple in Ampang. Where was this BIG FAT HYPOCRITE OF THE HIGHEST ORDER when so many Hindu temples were destroyed under BN? Wasn’t this BIG HYPO also responsible for detention of The Hindraf 5 calling them terrorists and now he is calling for their release!!! THE BIGGEST AND GREATEST HYPO OF THEM ALL IS THIS BLOODY NINCOMPOOP CALLED SAMY VELU!!!! TO HELL WITH THIS BUM WHO USED THE NAME OF MIC AND REPRESENTING THE HINDUS AND INDIAN COMMUNITY AND ROBBING THE NATION!!!! TO HELL WITH THIS BASTARD!!! I DON”T KNOW IF THIS IS GOING TO BE PUBLSHED BUT I THINK I AM NOT WRONG IN MY ASSESSMENT OF THIS CULPRIT OF ALL CULPRITS!!!

I don’t see why Uncle Sam, the biggest hypocrite of them all, after being kicked out in the last elections still has the nerve to show himself on TV accusing the Selangor state govt of being indifferent to the feelings of the Hindus over the destruction of the temple at Ampang. It was during his term as MIC leader that many Hindus temples were destroyed under BN. This case of the Ampang temple is being resolved amicably by the PR state govt that has been taking positive measures to overcome further problems, which BN never did. This same nincompoop has the nerve also to voice up for the Hindraf 5 who are detained due to this same nincompoop’s comments like they are associated with terrorists like the ‘Tamil Tigers’. Now that BN is losing its stronghold in certain states this hypocrite has the guts to sing a different song and dance to a different tune. Is it PR that has given this traitor the voice now? Admit it Uncle Sam, is it PR that has given you the guts to speak out now!!!

SELAMAT HARI RAYA! WELL SAID SHOBAN ! I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY MIC PARTY AND ITS MEMBERS STILL KEEPING SAMY VELU! I WONDER IF THERE IS NO OTHER LEADER TO LEAD ONE OF THE OLDEST RACE BASE PARTY. THEY ARE COUNTING THE DAYS! DON’T WORRY. IN THE NAME OF GOD YOU BE ABLE TO FOOL SOME IDIOTS BUT NOT ALL ARE STUPID.PEOPLE KNOW WHAT IS THEIR STATUS IN THIS COUNTRY.WE HOPE FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE SOON. EVERY EPISODE OF DRAMA WILL COME TO END!GOD DOT!

    Shobhan Reply:

Firstly, how did this scoundrel ever get chosen to head the party? The MIC leaders before him were decent men, though they were not proactive. It looks like MIC today is represented by thugs. No wonder the Indians have no proper avenues to voice their grievances. This moron Samy Vellu has been the cause for the oppression of the Indians because he never allowed a decent Indian to challenge his post. So the Indians declined further due to lack of proper representation. Crime rate is now higher among Indians then before though Indians make the smallest group among the major races. Why? Deprivation, like lack of educational opportunities and economical disadvantages have driven many Indians into poverty and crime. I’m not a racist or a religious fanatic but I feel any group that has been deprived of opportunities need help and should be helped.

Never had we expected that there is people who is still naive in politics. Remember that there are 3 despicable persons on this planet earth. One a saleman, two a politician and three a doctor.

No offence please, if you happen to be fall into one of those category.

Salam aidil firtri to all Malaysians. As we all are descendants of Adam and Eve, we are brothers and sisters. True, and this was mentioned by the respected Menteri Besar of Kelantan, Nik Aziz. We then are children of God. We should shed the clouds that blind us from seeing human beings as ONE soul from ONE source. That’s the ultimate truth for all human beings. Let’s make humanity our platform of believe when we talk about faith. JUSTICE is the only tenet of humanity. We seek JUSTICE for all human beings. Those who do not promulgate the principle of JUSTICE are committing the gravest of sins in the eyes of the divine power.

Whatever isms used as a political ideology to be the basis of nation building should in no way marginalise any ethnic group be it the majority nor the minority. Even if the ethnic group is represented by a single individual, that individual should be fairly represented. An elephant or group of elephants can be intimidated by a single mouse and this is a known fact. Therefore a single individual can bring down a nation as in the case of ‘Helen of Troy’ or any other such incidences in history. As such politicians should formulate laws that are fair to all, both living and non living entities, as a basis for good, just and fair governance so that life goes on harmoniously and peacefully. I have come to this conclusion after a long thought on whatever has happened and is happening in this beautiful land turned tumultous by irresponsible leaders.

  29. 29 Pat Man Oct 5th, 2008 at 11:13 pm

    Dear Mr Anwar

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to you and your family and to all muslims from concerned Australian Malaysians.

Please continue to maintain the high moral ground through your extraordinary political renaissance. Also continue to maintain pressure on the UMNO government who have lost the confidence of the Malaysian people.

Your comumnication strategies are excellent and are to be commended. Malaysia is leading the way through its cyber revoloution. People power will always prevail where a true viable political alternative is availble.

Do not give up the good fight and never lower yourself to the scummy gutter politics of your opponents.

All the best and good luck.
