Dari Malaysian Insider
PETALING JAYA, Sept 18 — Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants Parliament to convene by Sept 23 for him to table a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
He said that a letter signed by him, the DAP’s Lim Kit Siang and Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, representing the Pakatan Rakyat alliance, had been sent to the PM to request him to convene Parliament by next Tuesday.
“We have told him we have the numbers. If he wants the details and doesn’t believe me, then convene the emergency sitting,” he told reporters at PKR headquarters here today.
He insisted it was critical for the PM to respond as “it is important to think of the nation and not themselves. They are a minority government, the majority is with us.
“You can ask him this evening for his response,” referring to Abdullah’s usual press conference after the Umno supreme council meeting later today.
The supreme council has a 3pm meeting scheduled today.
He added that if Abdullah refused their request, the PR leadership will meet again.
Anwar did not rule out the possibility that the opposition alliance would then seek an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
When asked why the PR alliance was not prepared to wait until Oct 13, when Parliament is scheduled to be in session again, he cited as his reasoning the current “state of flux, volatility, arrests, ISA, economic threats, switching portfolios midstream, uncertainty in Umno supreme council meetings” and asked: “How long can you wait?”
The PKR de facto chief rebutted Abdullah’s statements yesterday, in which the PM accused Anwar of misleading the public when he claimed to have to have written to the PM to ask for a smooth transfer of power.
“The haggling over the syntax of our first letter is puerile at best,” he said, adding that “in deference to his position, we remain considerate and polite in our approach.”
He also called Abdullah reckless and irresponsible for saying he was a threat to the economy and security of the country.
Anwar pointed out that the stock market crashed today after the swapping of portfolios between Abdullah and his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Razak, with the latter taking over as finance minister.
He conceded that it was also due to “global economic conditions, particularly in the US” but added that no analyst had ever blamed him for the economic downturn.
The former deputy prime minister claimed that he had met key fund managers in the region, representing over US$1 trillion (RM3.4 trillion) in capital, who were in support of reforms in Malaysia, including “judicial independence, a more professional police force, effective Anti-Corruption Agency, free media and non-interference of politicians in Bank Negara.
He also stated that he got in touch with SAPP leader Datuk Yong Teck Lee last night but did not reveal details of their discussion.
Anwar claims to have the support of more than 31 MPs from the governing Barisan Nasional coalition to allow him to take over the federal government.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysians and I prayed to God every night that your plan will be reality. We wants change….nothing else.
Please be careful with any cunning tricks deployed by UMNO-led government.
I hope Pakatan Rakyat work together to overcome any obstacles caused by UMNO-led goevrnment.

Krisis Keyakinan
Soal lompat parti bukanlah isu pokok.
Selamat Hari Malaysia!

you failed in your self-pledged to topple the government by 16 Sept. 2008, which was entirely of your own-making and now you have the audacity to demand, i repeat to demand no confidence vote against PM. It is outrageous.
i think is best you leave it to the BN, which i see is forthcoming. And as for you my advise is that do a ‘soul-searching’ before coming back with a more well-planned strategy.

AP BN lompat: PAS tahu siapa
Terdapat wakil MCA,MIC
“Walaupun mereka kata kita (buat) gimik, sebenarnya mereka panik.
Bagaimanapun, katanya, mesyuarat hanya dimaklumkan mengenai bilangannya sahaja mengikut pecahan negeri.

Dear DSAI,
I feel that it is no point to move a motion of no confidence vote for pak lah. The speaker will reject your motion like what he did to your wife and LKS before. Please submit immediately(email/fax) the names of the majority numbers of MPs whom you claimed you have to Yang DiPertuan Agong and cc to all sultans so that they can know what action to be taken if pak lah use ISA to arrest these MPs. If I am not wrong, Yang DiPertuan Agong will appoint a new Prime Minister who can get the support of majority of MPs or His Majesty may call for the disolution of Parliment and a fresh GE be held. I strongly believe PR will sweep a landslide victory this time because the wind of change is still blowing strongly. Act fast before you are arrested under ISA.

Dear DSAI,
Allow me to give my humble opinion.
You asked Badawi for an emergency session of Parliament on 23/9. Or you ask for any other process by which to take over the government.
These are the possible scenarios:
- Badawi accepts and arranges for emergency session on 23/9 or whatever date. You win the motion in Parliament.
- Badawi accepts, says he will arrange for the emergency session. He then ISAs you before the session.
- Badawi accepts, arranges for emergency session on 23/9. He gets Speaker to reject motion.
- Badawi refuses, says to wait for the usual Parliament session to open. He ISAs you before then, or gets Speaker to reject the motion.
- Badawi refuses. He does nothing else, waits for your next move to refuse again.
- Badawi refuses. He waits till your trial and denies you further bail, detains you.
- Badawi refuses. Something happens to RPK, Theresa or Sheih in jail, he blames it on you or people protest. He imposes emergency rule and arrests you.
- Badawi refuses. He creates a reason to impose emergency rule or even martial law, and arrests you.
- Badawi refuses. He suddenly resigns and hands over the govt to Najib or Muhyiddin or Albar. They arrest you or ISA you.
It is clear now that the first scenario, which had been your goal, will not come about.
All the other scenarios will effectively shackle you, some of them, permanently.
Badawi has his own problems which he is now desperately grappling with, not only from within UMNO but also from his own cabinet. I think you need to take into consideration his situation as well.
The fact is that he still has the power and authority to take action, whether for his own or for UMNO’s or PKR’s benefit or otherwise.
Was it not Badawi who arranged for you to be released from prison and who gave you a new passport so you could go overseas for medical treatment?
Is it not possible to pay him back the favour, so to speak? After all, he did not really have to do what he did for you.
The public announcements of what PKR will do or should do puts him into an even more difficult bind. It really leaves him no choice but to make public denials and refusals to show he is still with UMNO, which is trying to remove him as party head.
Is it not possible to send someone to speak with him in private to enable you to work out a win-win deal just with him, which will help him out of the extremely tight spot he is in right now?
You have the correct principles and ideology to be a great statesman. But I think your team lacks negotiating skills and power-broking expertise.
I mean, open and public confrontation and demands for him to step down seems aggressive and hostile. The tack does appear ham-fisted. More importantly, it is not helping you to achieve your objectives.
I think I am not wrong in saying that there is already sympathy building up for Badawi because of your constant public ultimatums. If sympathy for him continues to build up, the tide may turn against you.

Sdr-sdr jgnlah bimbang.Kerajaan BN sudah letih, dah 50thn memerintah dah sampainya masa utk PR.Tapi pengerusinya kata PR belum begitu matang lagi.Tibanya masa, peralihan juga akan terjadi. So jgn risau sangat.BN tu kan demokrasi.Kalau tak cukup mandat ,BN sediakan MP-MPnya utk menjayakan PR.Tapi dgn satu syarat, dlm buku sejarah kena tulis parti BN yg memohon kemerdekaan.

Whatever action u need to take, has to be done fast, swift and with thorough consideration. Weigh in all your options, examine the worst case scenario and deny the opportunity to your opponents to find any loopholes.
The option of taking over the Government and overthrowing BN has to be considered carefully and must coincide with the right perfect timing. Do it before your trial, cos the way I see it, you’re in for a long haul this time round unless miraculously you are able to escape prosecution.
DSAI, another thing to have to consider is the return of Che Det to the ranks of UMNO. Believe me, if he does come in, Badawi is gonna go, Najib is gonna go, and Muhyideen Yasin will be the next PM. This time round, he will also ensure you’re finished once and for all being a threat for him and BN.
I say again, weigh all ur options and act fast. Time is running out. If you indeed have the majority to form a new Government as u claim so, you have little to worry. There is no way a minority Government can rule the nation, unless Badawi becomes a dictator. Becareful as he is now also the Defence minister, he may impose martial law anytime if he feels tremendously threatened.
Perhaps your last option should be to over run the state government and lay seige on Putrajaya with the help of all supporters of alternative coalition just like in Thailand. However, i doubt if anyone in Malaysia has the nerves of steel to pull such a stunt.
Regards
Singaporean
