Confronting The Fear of Change

By YB Khalid Samad, Member of Parliament for Shah Alam

I received an sms yesterday with questions which I think are worth answering/discussing. The sms had 7 or 8 concerns if you will and is repeated below:-

Please seriously consider the following in the future Pakatan:

1. The implication of Anwar’s over promised populist approach to the non-Malays, which may carry negative implications to PAS Malays thresholds.

2. DAP and PKR extremists, liberalists within the administration that might create social insecurity among the Malay PAS supporters.

3. The mass defection of UMNO MPs with their corrupt culture into PKR that takes lead in Pakatan direction.

4. The Islamic social welfare policies versus drastic fiscal policies that piggy back on budget deficits that subsidies populists at the expanse of future generation

5. Where is PAS in the whole process? Where are we heading? We may have destroyed the evil UMNO, but invited the Satan that bow to US and foreign super power.

6. Malay unity is very crucial to the Malaysian social, economic stability. Please mirror Indonesian’s reformasi. The people still struggle since 1998, while national economic resources are gang raped by super power.

7. Why not PAS take the leading role in forming the next government and unite Malays?

Don’t know what is best? The survival of PAS is at stake. It’s definitely sure US is behind Anwar to destroy NEP which is our social engineering insurance for stability. Now our country is heading towards anarchy situations!

I cannot help feeling sorry for the person who is genuinely fearful of the impending change. I believe his concerns are sincere and I wish to address them as follows:-

1. Anwar’s so called ‘over promised populist approach to the non-Malays’ as he puts it needs to be specified so that we understand what exactly he is worried about. There is this impression, for which UMNO is obviously responsible, that Anwar is selling out the Malays and Islam. I do not agree. To address the issues raised by the non-Malays, within the framework of the National Constitution is not tantamount to ‘selling out’ the Malays and Islam. This is as the position of both is firmly rooted in the same Constitution. So, in short, if he can try to specify where exactly Anwar ‘sells-out’, it is difficult to answer this question. He may find, to his surprise, that once he sits down to list all the items, he will end up with a blank page! This is the power of ‘perception’ which everyone talks about in the realm of politics.

2. The term ‘extremists’ which he uses here, I presume are the liberalists which once placed in the new administration will have a field day and turn his world upside-down. Again this is the perception and again I stress that everything which will be implemented needs to conform to the Constitution.

Secondly, we will rule by consensus (Perak being a salient example) and while PAS is a minority partner in the current set-up, we will ensure that justice will always be the prime consideration in all policies and decisions. We too have no intention of ‘selling-out’ anybody. I think the major question here that everybody has to answer is “can there be justice for everyone?” If the answer is yes, then there is no problem to proceed. However if it is sincerely believed that it is an unachievable ideal then why bother in the first place? For PAS we believe that justice was the purpose of the Prophets (May peace be upon them) and based on Islam, all are to be given their rightful share.

3. PKR may be taking the lead but they know as much as we do that they cannot lead where we do not wish to follow. We are not tied by our nostrils. That is partly the reason why PR will work. In the BN, UMNO was too dominant. Everything just got bulldozed through. When one started lining his pockets, true to the saying, “if you cannot beat them, join them”, the rest followed in droves.

As for the mass defection of the UMNO MPs with their corrupt culture, I wonder, would it be seen as a problem if they defected and joined PAS?

4. A lot of words but an equal amount of assumptions. “Budget deficits subsiding populists” etc. etc. The current BN budget is a deficit budget. It subsidises cronies and leaves the crumbs to the general population. It proceeds with Mega projects worth Billions while the returns are uncertain. As for the future generation, their future starts now! If the majority of parents are too busy making a living and financially very hard pressed, what future can they have?

We will be equally responsible to ensure that the PR budget is a responsible budget with the Islamic Welfare objectives clearly in sight. Again PKR does not rule alone.

5. PAS is strongly entrenched in the states which we have won. Our role in the defection of the BN MPs in Sabah and Sarawak is admittedly limited due to our limited presence there. However, it does not mean we have no role in the end, which is what matters.

The Satan referred to is Anwar, I presume. Well, again, thanks to the BN, this is a perception within certain quarters. Personally I have known Anwar for many years, since the 70s. His is a challenging life and all credit to him, he survived where many lesser men would have succumbed easily. I do not see any justice in the perception of him as Satan and unless people can, again, come up with specific charges which are proven without a shadow of a doubt; they should not go around making such statements. The Satans I see are those who line their pockets with the money that is meant for the poor, persecute people for no reason besides their dissent and the such. As for bowing down to the US, well again that is an unsubstantiated charge.

6. Yes it is true that Malay unity is important and we will work to build this but on the ruins left behind by UMNO. We have always stated that it is UMNO who stood in the way of the unity of the Malays and the Malaysians as a national entity. The time has arrived for us to prove this. Getting cold feet already ah? Biasalah tu!

7. Yes, this is what we all hope for, that PAS will be able to be at the fore-front of all things. However, this is something we will have to work for and not just demand. We have to believe that we can prove ourselves to the rakyat that we are the best. We cannot do this until we are free of the constraints placed, both physical and psychological, by UMNO/BN. Then we will be able to convince the Malays and the non-Malays that we are worthy of their trust and the most capable to lead this great country of ours. BUT this starts with a step forward, not backwards.

The NEP has been placed in the dustbin by BN long ago! The so-called DEB had been ‘upgraded’ to the DEC (Dasar Ekonomi Crony) years ago and while giving the Malays the crumbs, they kept the majority in poverty and thus dependent. UMNO had the gall to parade themselves as the saviors of the Malays! We need to wake up and realize that the opportunity for real change and real solutions has arrived. Seize the moment and Tawakkal alAllah!

    thats a truly brilliant answer.

    hisham Reply:

No thanks, not a brilliant answer. the meaning of the above answer is people know less about PR and to ask people to give PR a chance so the PR prove itself as better compare to BN. why ask people for a chance if you are good? if you are really good people will give you a chance no need to ask but people will ask you.

the writer is short sighted too. he cannot answer whether anwar is pro US or not, finance by US or not. also he cannot listed what anwar has said or promised the non bumi. also can the writer said that anwar’s PR will better for Islam or worst for Islam compared to BN? who else that oppose the Islam idea most other than DAP yet PAS work hard to make friend with this PAP’s son. but when UMNO want to make a friendly move it was dismissed by PAS as a desperate measure and PAS turned it face from UMNO. Stupid, ‘if’ Rasulullah see that are you sure that he will say that PAS do the right thing?

You PR always talk very well but things that you plan and do seems like bring more harm than good. can you do something like ‘menarik rambut dalam tepung, rambut tak putus tepung tak berserak’? anwar went trough many tragedy in his life, I afraid he also will bring with him this country to such hardship and tragedy. think people use your head instead of thinking about power only!!

    informalaysia Reply:

    Dear Sir,

Even if you don’t agree with the writer, I think it’s probably best that you don’t call others “stupid” and “use your head”, etc. etc. Now, ‘if’ Rasulullah see that you call others stupid will he say that you’re doing the right thing?

You write like you’re an UMNO supporter. Now, tell me Sir, who just asked for a chance from Gerakan recently? You might wanna read this story “UMNO to Gerakan: Please Give Us Another Chance” URL: http://mt.m2day.org/2008/content/view/12165/1/

By the way, don’t you think if Anwar only wanted power, he would’ve just stayed the course with Mahathir and followed everything that Mahathir did until Mahathir resigned? Easy isn’t it? Why would he ever jeopardize the chance to become PM when he was so close at it?

Now tell me who fabricated the 2008 sodomy issue in order to stay in power? And who manipulated the EC to win his parliamentary seat just to stay in power? You support all of this obviously power-hungry people but you despise Anwar whose never had a chance to show what he’s truly capable of.

Please, Sir. Do not be one of those people who says “Just on the basis of Ketuanan Melayu, I can tolerate whatever corruption the UMNO people does because they champion Ketuanan Melayu”

So I guess it’s true. Change definitely involves a lot of courage and not everyone would be able to stand the anxiety while they’re at it.

HERE WE GO AGAIN.THE MALAY AGENDA.ITS ALWAYS ABOUT THE MALAYS ONLY THE MALAYS ARE THINKING OFF THIER FUTURE.THEY DONT CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO OTHER RACES.

I understand that among the non-malays, Malay agenda is a taboo. Please understand that as long as Malay agenda does not repress the rights of others, I don’t see why it should not be discussed. The question is to discuss Malay Agenda without having the non-Malays to feel intimidated by it. The reason why the agenda carries such a weight behind its name is because of UMNO. And that is something that PKR, PAS and DAP is currently working on. When some of you speak of HINDRAF, I don’t see Anwar Ibrahim or Wan Azizah cringe with fear, when both of them know that some of the demands made by HINDRAF are tantamount to inciting hatred. But, again we sat down and discuss what is the issue is all about and work together of a common goal i.e. fairness and equality to everyone. I, was personally offended when HINDRAF claimed Malays were guilty of ethnic cleansing. HINDRAF failed to distinguish between Malay from UMNO as well as islam from UMNO.

    Shobhan Reply:

Abu, I am sorry to hear that HINDRAF has hurt the feelings of Malays that are not guilty of the injustices of UMNO. Hope you understand that not all Indians think that way of our Malay friends. Thanks anyway for expressing your feelings so genuinely. Selamat berpuasa!!

Ayah saya dulu kerje kat estet Sime Darby. Aku nampak dengan mata sendiri.

Aku rasa kita Melayu toksah takut dgn HINDRAF.

Magen, I’m an Indian. You have to understand that the situation created is not by Malays as a whole. It is UMNO to be blamed for any injustice that you feel. Look at RPK. He is a Malay. He is speaking up for all of us Malaysians, irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity, colour, etc… He is fighting for human justice from a tyrannical govt. He is sacrificing his life and probably endangering his family members fighting this cause. Can you say that all Malays are supporting UMNO’s stand? Please apologise my friend!!!!

Is our Indian community begging by the roadside because of the NEP/DEB? Are we? No, the answer is a definite NO. I just don’t get you at all.

I am an Indian too, I am not affected by the way of NEP/DEB, the only difference is that I earn less fortune compared my Malay brothers & sisters. That’s all, as simple as that. Well, I am ok with that; at least I still earn at the end of the day.

Listen, let me give you an advice which is also free of charge, be a Malaysian, talk like a true Malaysian, behave like a great Malaysian and lastly GROW UP & come out of the bigotry box. Get it?

the malay community are way much better than you think…the middle east, india and all have almost the same skin colour but only different in religion and yet there is no peace there but here not only different skin colour but religion and all..yet we live in peace and hormony..

being the majority race and religion,we actually should respect the malays and be thankful for the amount of tolerance they have…this shows openess not laziness..

i dont care about NEP,DEP and etc…because no one will say dont want when they are given free benefits…imagine samyvellu and MIC say they give free education and business loan for you..will you reject the offer???

same goes to the Malay community..how can someone reject the benefits they get??will you reject a discount when u buying a shirt for instance?i bet u wont!!Same pricipal here…

you cant say malay people are generally lazy..they a just going through a wrong system which makes them dependent..

and they dont really enjoy the benefits actually..only certain 1/4..rest are in middle class and poor category..so think before you say something…

i am an indian and i had so many malay close friends..we are all malaysians and we should help each other..and dont expect for help from all this policies..

dont be a racist please..think like a malaysian..just divide ppl by poor and rich and help the poor no matter what race they are!!

that the reason i support Anwar and the opposition..cause BN is a racist G and play racial politics simply to divide us bangsa malaysia..and you are one of the victim..

i believe you must’ve heard of this famous cliche stating:

” If you’re not lazy then you’re not a Malay,
If you dont cheat then you’re not a Chinese,
If you dont drink then you’re not an Indian.”

let me get this straight with you:

Im a Malay but Im not lazy,
    My friend’s a Chinese but he’s not a cheater,
And another one, an Indian but he never drink.

Of course i do admit that there are bad Malays around. Ive seen them all and I know some of them. But that doesnt mean all Malays are like that. The same goes with Indians and Chinese. There are the good ones and there are the bad ones around.

We cant just label a particular race just because there is one guy of this race doing bad things. But still if you still think the way you think now then you must include every other race across the world because they are bad too.

Currently im seeing a tremendous effort trying to unite each and every races in Malaysia. The Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Ibanese and a lot more are working together to achieve peace, harmony and solidarity. So please dont let this effort be wasted.

I wonder who is more fearful of the change here - YB Khalid Samad, or the rest of us?

Hi all….guess don’t argue of things that makes no outcome…lets see

Malaysia is a well blessed country because Malaysia is one of the rare country that have oil on top and below the lands (Oil Palm & Petroleum)…I am a chinese and i always travel to China to make trading…the ppl there told me “Wao….ur country must be rich coz of Oil On top n below land…guess what….i dont know how to answer them….coz Malaysia is not rich….With such a full of resources and without major natural crisis….Why MALAYSIA CANT be one of the richest country?

We all know that NEP doesn’t help the majority poor Malays then why we still need things that is just a dream?….

Globalisation is here….it is no more time we argue which races should get what portions of the economy….When internally we are fighting for this and that….the end result will be the outsider gets the benefit……

Lets say (just example)…If under NEP Malay each person have extra RM10 per day…and other races get nothing extra there….so malays will feel very happy on that…Agree?!….What if we unite together…Yes Malaysian unite together and focus on how to bring up the economy of malaysia then every races gets an extra benefits from there….It is like a family….1 fella can bring in RM1…..2 fellas can bring in RM3…..3 fellas might be RM10…..This is for real….and i got a good example for you guys…

In WenZhou China, The Chinese call them WenZhou ppl….lets see how they unite
the ppl there berkejasama…every person have their own role….diff role create diff parts for the lighter….and guess what i heard….they can create a lighter at the cost of RMB0.10 that is RM0.05…..YES….5 cents per lighter….they have the lowest cost lighter in the world….most of the chinese there very scared WenZhou ppl….why?….because they very unite…..and when they invest into property….most of the chinese there very scared of them…..coz they can goreng the property price till very high….coz they come in bunch…..

So…why we need to fight around just for the extra RM10?……why don’t we work around and gain the extra RM100 for everyone?….

Perubahan pasti datang.

First and the mother of all importance is “malaysian unity”. Why are we always
concentrated on one race unity rather the all races?? Put politics aside and
put politics far far away, all the races will automatically be united simply
by virtue of being malaysians. What have MCA done to the chinese?? What has
MIC done to the indians and what has UMNO done to the malays. THE ANSWER IS
    DISUNITY!!!

The Evil Super Power that is the USA?

hmmm… Where is the intelligence and sophistication inherent in this person’s argument?

I take it DELL, Western Digital, Google, Micrsoft and all partnering nations who support the US ie: Japan and Korea are evil.

Remember, these US companies give Malaysians jobs. They could move to China or India.
    Think about it….

As long as we, rakyat jelata believe what we believe in you. We have chosen Pakatan Rakyat without regrets.

    PAKATAN RAKYAT is
a latest brand new computer with super graphic and high speed and capacity memory.

    BN is
a second-hand outmoded computer without colour, low speed and capacity memory.
Insufficient for upgrades . Not compatible at all.

    For an example,

About Mr. Mad from Bkt. Bendera. Actually, he is correct. He did nothing wrong!
BUMNO has cultivated him to be racist. He has been taught, instructed and ordered to be racist.

Malaysian Cabaret Association should agree with him too because they always say “We, Chinese do not break the BIG EFFORT which we have built for so hard and so long. It has maintained the harmonious unity between Chinese and Malays until now.(cough)”

Malaysian Cabaret Association, they are just like the old ancient timer, trade their own daughter or children even respect, dignity and pride for their personal survival.

I wish them happy and good luck!

NEP only benefit the cronies. Nep works if implemented properly and correctly.
Example bumi quota for housing Projects who benefit??. Bumi gets 5 percent discount,Developer mark up 20 percent for unsold bumi units sometimes up to a year or 2. Thats means bumi pay 15 percent extra and non bumi 20 percent extra so is NEP working??

Another example by Tun Dr. Mahathir himself as below pick up from test.chedet.com/che_det/2008/08/auku-akta-universiti-dan-kolej.html

It shows Nep gain more bumi intake to U but those getting the degree is the same. However overall malaysia is losing out as many non bumi is capable of getting a degree is not allow in the intake. Even if some of this non bumi can send their child oversea it still means the out flow of our cash to other countries which will be making the profit. And our country has less degree holders every year with NEP.

Many Projects awarded is Ali-Baba. Baba gets the contract price. Ali gets the extra mark up price paid to them from the govt which also means the rakyat money..

Anyway dont just listern to me how good or bad BN has become but listen to loyalist of BN Tun DR. Lim Keng Yaik has to say bout BN now at malaysia insider

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 — If it was put to a vote today, Gerakan members would choose to leave Barisan Nasional. That damning verdict was given by Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik, the party’s former president and most influential voice.

But he added that this major decision will not be made until the issue has been debated exhaustively, and certainly not while emotions are still raw in the party which was decimated in Election 2008.

Still, the Umno and BN leadership should be prepared for the exit of Gerakan, judging by his pungent and pessimistic reading of the political situation.

In a wide-ranging interview with Off the Edge, the politician, who has made a living out of shooting from the hip, paints a grim picture of Umno, a party incapable of change and reform.

Worse yet, he did not think the party’s current or next generation of leaders are enlightened. During the interview, he sketched the underlying reasons for Gerakan’s and Barisan Nasional’s dismal performance in Election 2008.

“We had the worst kind of Umno arrogance as a result of the 2004 elections. The abuse of power, corruption, negotiated tenders with government tenders going mainly to Umno-associated companies. All this is not decided by the Cabinet but by the Ministry of Finance. You think people don’t know. Prices are jacked up and there is no check on the implementation of these projects.

“And then you had the Umno assembly and everyone saw how racist its members can become. All these things put us as a component party in a very difficult situation. And then Hindraf came into the picture. So we knew before going into March 8 that it was very bad, ” he said.

Dr Lim alleged that money politics culture in Umno also had an impact on the general elections, saying that all new Gerakan candidates were given “hell by the Umno divisional chairmen”.

“It’s all money, money, money, money, money, ” he noted.

So has Umno understood the message which voters sent them on March 8?

“I don’t think so. Or maybe they are too preoccupied with their own party elections to come around to thinking and analysing what happened. But I think, being racially based, they think they can still turn the Malay votes. So the first thing they did was talk to Pas, ” said Dr Lim

Tun Dr.Lim Is not a supporter of PKR and he know better of BN than many of us

There are more than 16 millions of Malay in this country. It is undeniable that the future of this country is depend largely on how the community is willing to progress and advance not in wealth but in strong spirit and mentality to accept change. More important is the willingness to open up one’s mind to accept the new globalisation challenges and dare to compete for improvement.

Our leadership is still stuck in the old days where we are refrained from exploring and questioning our own future. The fear factor is still very much pre-occupy our mind. In the old days, we leave it to our leader to lead us because our nation and the world is still in the industry ages whereby all human resoruces were concentrate in industry development. Now we are in information ages and is time for the people to stand up and speak out to the leader that they must listen to what we want them to do.

i attended the wedding dinner reception of the former Cuepacs President on Tuesday. Mahathir was there. And so was Rafidah. Mahathir did NOT acknowledge Rafidah though the sat only one seat away, separated by Siti Hasmah. No smile, no hand shake, no nothing for Rafidah………Mahathir NEVER forgets not forgives those who betray him. He ONLy forgives you once he has ” kenakan ” you………like how he forgave AAB, Rais, Razaleigh etc etc.

The non Malays who came for the dinner took photos with Mahathir, as if he was a Taj Mahal or A Famosa…..the Malays, the few who were there, stayed away from Mahathir, to the Malays Mahathir is a someone who has Penyakit Kusta…………

Mahathir - the racist who inculcated racist feelings into the otherwise simple Malays……the irony is, despite being an Indian [ Mamak ] , Mahathir managed to ignite racist feelings among the Malays here, and he successfully ruined the Malays…….

During his tenure the only things Malays learned was how to be racist, how to steal, how to bribe, how to get anything without having to work……….and this Mamak actually thinks he made his people successful….

An idea for PR to consider:

    (1) Topple BN on 16 Sept.

    (2) Call for a re-election.

    (3) Let the people decide.

    (4) PR wins convincingly.

This is to prove the “validity” of the crossovers.

Saya amat bersetuju dgn pendapat anda. Dia naik kerana dia lemah.

i would definately prefer DSAI and PKR taking the leading role in PR… PKR is a multiracial party and is more suitable to take the top spot in PKR… moreover, im starting to feel disgusted the way PAS governs kedah… banning concerts n this n that… all they have in mind is only implementation of hududs.. hello, we are in a world of digital and malaysia is a multiracial country… do u think hudud works well in kelantan and it will work throughout malaysia… do they have any consideration to the presence of non muslim in the country before implementing such law… the non muslim vote for them in PRU12 for a fairer n transparent gov, not to be a theocratic gov which impose all sorts of banning.. try to view this blog below,

The questions are valid from non UMNO members view points, if they are, and the answers equally more so, for UMNO or Non members.

One of the biggest blinkers in the quest for change is openness and information communication. The technology is there but underused and has become a clamp.

The more people like Khalid Samad can be heard over the statics the less thorny the path to progress.

Rais Yatim was on air an hour ago on RTM 1 and although he spoke unfairly of Sdra Anwar, the guy is one of the few UMNO people who talks decent articulate Bahasa and does know his job. The unfair statements of PKR and Anwar being foreign agent is small talk and he doesn’t “meliinting” but “melintang” which is apparent to listeners. What was not right was the forum should have been extended to others. Rais should tell citizens his portfolio’s bisness by a regular press conference as Anwar does, not on RTM at the exclusion of others who he derogated.

The elitist UMNO/Malays are crumbling and the process is already accelerating but we must widen information channels—tear it wide open!

This Q&A should be printed and sold to shops as wrapping paper—at least that way it gets attention!!!

    ANAK MALAYSIA Reply:

i think dr.rais yatim is amalkan double standard.bkankah dalam buku dia tulis “democratic of law”,semua manusia bebas tahu apa yang berlaku d sekelilingnya termasuk apa yang sedang dsaksikan?

    Dear DSAI,

In addition to your topic of confronting the fear of change, a great emphasis should be put into our current working conditions as higher unemployment rate & stress can create many illnesses in our society . With our outdated employment laws that favor all employers/companies to their amusement and abuse being the dominant position in particular a managerial/higher position level, we need make our working conditions a better place. Those employees who are victimized must be accorded justice.

Only the rich and powerful individual can afford legal expenses. Many law makers are feeling complacent and perhaps mentally incarcerated in their own unique ways believing that it is never good to have laws to protect the employees or to have unions as it will hinder productivity and growth, a common reason given by everyone who loved the notion of humiliating their employees in order to gain control over them

With your reforms agenda, my only wish is that one day, we will uphold the rule of law and such unacceptable abuse by employers and companies by their higher dominant position will not be tolerated. Hopefully one day, Malaysia can be mature enough to be in a position to execute Antitrust Laws as in the developed countries.

We Malaysians ought to be open minded. We should wake up from our slumber and addiction to the notion that race and religion are the utmost for survival. Where is race and religion when a tsunami or earthquake were to threaten our nation? Where is race and religion when we talk about progress and development in this modern world? Who do you think are the architects behind the twin towers? Definitely not Malaysians. Even the National Monument was designed by an American, Felix de Weldon. There are many more situations which I can state here but time and space do not permit me to spell them all out one by one.
So my dear Malaysians, we are crying and wailing over ‘a storm in a teacup’. DSAI and his supporters in the opposition are definitely going to have a tough time if all of us are going to ‘CRY AND WAIL LIKE IMMATURE AND INSENSITIVE ADULTS OVER A STORM IN A TEACUP’.

  51. 51 Shobhan Sep 5th, 2008 at 10:57 pm

We Malaysians should look into our hearts and search our souls to realise if we have been fair and just to all those around us, including the living and the non living. If we are so particular about our religious teachings, then we should question ourselves if this is what God wants us to do. Most of us talk about religion but we forget about God.

Assalamualaikum …

Mereka amat Proaktif sehinggakan berjaya memperolehi harta negara lain.

The Courage to Build a New Malaysia.
    ————————————

The year is 2008. This is the year most Malaysians finally woke up from a deep slumber. Most Malaysians were just too busy earning their living and building up their lives to take notice that times have changed and the idealism spouted by our founding Fathers have still not been accomplished for this country even today.

It was not so long ago in 1957 and then for our fellow East Malaysians in 1963 when the ideals and dreams preached by the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj (Bapa Kemerdekaan and Bapa Malaysia) for Malaysia were first announced and was greeted with joy in the hearts and minds of all Malaysians. The late Tunku Abdul Rahman had a dream and ideals, just like Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and many others including the prophets over the history of mankind.

Many a times such dreams were hijacked and led astray under the guise of nationalistic, racist and religious idealism by so called politicians and self declared and appointed righteous and religious persons (Little Napoleons). Individuals who have risen to continue some of such idealisms are gagged, isolated, bankcrupted, blasphemied, rehabilitated or worst jailed, for it is deemed not in consonance with the dreams and idealism of the elected parties agendas.

Laws are legislated and passed at whim in Parliament to change the idealism of the Supreme Law of the Land (The Malaysian Constitution) and to cloak such party and individual agendas. It is true, Malaysia, conforms to the democratic process as practiced by most western countries in elections (even though tainted but unproven). But once given the trust to be elected as a leader or representative of the people, party and individual idealism overtook national idealism, and The Jeykll and Hyde personality emerged to be repeated over and over again at each and every election and by-election.

Malaysians have being led astray for so long, that what is right is blurred, what is wrong is tolerated, what is evil is condoned, what is fair is pouted as unfair, what is immoral becomes moral and corruption and close one eye need to become a part of our accepted daily lives. Jealousy, hatred, greed, racism, plundering and satanism starts to breed in Malaysian minds, and brothers, friends and fellow Malaysians were looked upon as enemies or as inferior human beings. Once a while, such nets were cast ashore to include anything to do with other countries or other races which do not belong to one’s own race or religious beliefs.

The minds and souls of Malaysians are so polluted and poisoned for so many years that it seems that Malaysia is the only all correct country and we should rule the world by our way. Examples of countries which follows Malaysia or is it we following them are, such as North Korea, Zimbabwe and Israel. What justifications can you tell your own generations or future Malaysian generations that what you are doing to fellow mankind and more so to your own fellow Malaysians that it is righteous and correct, when, it is at the expense and sufferings of your own human kind and fellow Malaysians?

Can you say to them I did it to follow the orders and teachings of God or party political agendas? Who gave you such inspirations and idealism? Do not absolve your own wicked mind and greed nor take a ride on someone else wicked mind and greed. Do not pick and choose in the Books of God nor the man-made laws to justify or suit your own twisted and idealistic minds. You can fool others due to their ignorance or emotions at some time but you can’t fool forever a man’s conscience nor your own children or hopefully one day your own when such enlightenment comes to you.

The courage to change things which are not right in Malaysia nor achieve the ideals of the Founding Fathers is not impossible. Most Malaysians have woken up to the fact that the future is going to be determined by it’s own citizens thru their own conscience guided by their own religious beliefs to live a harmonious and productive life of correctness and not the type of political, racial or religious correctness as preached.

Parties and their own agendas do not take priority over the Founding Fathers ideals and hopes of all Malaysians. Religion and principles are as a guide to your own conscience to make sure whoever is the leader do not lead Malaysians nor society astray.

For in the end, what is just and right should surely overule anything else for any leader or their party agendas.

Does your Representative of the People (Wakil Rakyat) or You! have the courage?

    ——————————————————————————————–

    Keberanian Membina sebuah Malaysia Baru.
    —————————————-

Adakah Wakil Rakyat kamu ataupun Kamu! mempunyai Keberanian?

Aiyah, Why Malaysians keep on fighting over both “Racist issue and Religion issue” ? Do Malaysians know that all races depend on each other in our multiracial societies to survive and develop our nation Malaysia.

    (a) Malay communities are the majority dominance race in Malaysia but they cannot solely depend on government to feed and to educate them. Majority of Malay communities are working in MNCs, big companies, SME and SMI comoppanies and small firms owned by Chines communities and tycoons. Malay workers are trained and learn from the Chinese top professionals and bosses.

    (c) Chinese communities depend on the government to provide security force like police, army and guards to protect their wealth and business entities in Malaysia. Chinese communities are very practical and understanding to honour their contributions toward nation development and progress in Malaysia.

    (d) Indian communities depend on both Chinese and government in term of jobs and security aspects. However, Indian communities are the best hardworking labor in plantations, railways, civil engineering, road builders etc and also provide excellent professional services like medical doctor, lawyer, teacher and etc toward the achievement of better services in Malaysia.

    (e) Other small communities like Iban, Kadazan Dusun, Melanau, Dayak and Bumiputra of Sabah & Sawarak also play important roles in the economy, plantations, agricultures , forestry and nation building in Malaysia.

Based on the examples mentioned above, Malaysians should be proud to understand that Ketuanan Rakyat of multiracial communities help to develop the nation.

We felt shameful to read so many articles related to races and religions conflict by our politicians of both sides from BN and Pakatan Rakyat. Foreigners have been laughing and observing the stupidity and foolish of our MPs for their irresponsible racist and religion remarks in Malaysia.

We called upon all politicians of all parties to stand united under federal constitutions of “RUKUN NEGARA” and stop playing racial cards to hurt the feeling of all races and stop racial tension in Malay.

My Malay Datuk cried out loud after reading and knowing how bad Malay leaders in UMNO behaved arrogant and greedy now that they have caused the Malay community divided and hilang akal hidup against our Islamic concept. My Chinese Nenek also in tears and sad after listening and knowing the arrogant of UMNO division chief of Bkt Bendera unwilling to apologise after calling Chinese communtiy as “immigrant or pendatang”. They both love each other regardless of race and religion and got married for 40 years to see our nation achieved 51 years old Merdeka Day. They are damn angry and sad to know UMNO and PAS are too ego to play racist issues by way of using the Ketuanan Melayu and Islam agendas to win Malay community votes.

Malay community is not malas, stupid, mudah lupa and bodoh dipermainkan oleh politikus // politicians from UMNO or PAS for their own greedy and arrogant agendas to sapu or corrupt all wealth of the nation in the name of Islam and Ketuanan Melayu agendas. Young educated Malay community are smart and able to think positive as well as willing to work and join hands with other non-Malay commuities to get rid of corrupt UMNO and extremist PAS.

In the holy month of Bulan Berpuasa, Malaysians must pray hard and work hard to ensure we want a great change in our thinking and our new government with good clean leaders.

    Selamat Berpuasa, InsyALLAH

this analogy applies to us, Malaysians!

instead of saying i’m Malay/Chinese/Indian/Kadazan/Iban/etc, let’s just say we’re Malaysians and we’re here together as one, to build our country together!

because each and everyone of us, irregardless of race or religion, is a vital component in the growth of our nation..

    why?

without soil - the plant will not grow
without water - the plant will not grow
without sun - the plant will not grow

Well said YB Khalid. What we want to see is honesty to make change. Some areas make take times to change because certain sensitivity. We have been living with these sensitivities for 50 years and to make abrupt changes could create racial tension. To mitigate the risk all the sensitive areas should be handled carefully and rationally. Patience, dialog and communication within the community to trash sensitive issues should be carried out. What matter most we are willing to work for reform and hence betterment for the rakyat. Anything that hardcoded in the constitution should be respected for now. are u sure?? do you think the malay unity is more important or the unity of malaysians(btw different races), is more vital to the economy growth of malaysia?? think twice!!!

Well, rephrase the statement: “Malaysian unity is very crucial to the Malaysian social, economic stability.” I don’t think anyone can argue against that.

Now, since Malays comprise 60 percent of the Malaysian population, how could there be “Malaysian unity” without “Malay unity”? QED.

YB Khalid Samad has expertly replied the seven points raised by the sender of the sms, alone the same line similarly articulated by DSAI on many other occasions elsewhere. The openness adopted by PKR leaders on such vital issues is a stark contrast to that practised by UMNO dominated BN leadership. The recent outburst and racial remarks of Bukit Bendera UMNO Divisional Chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail, and how it was dealt with by PM and DPM is a good example.

    Lets just hope for a change, I love Malay,Chinese,Indian & Lain-lain.

Lets just hope there’s equal opportunity to work our vision in Malaysia.

I feel sad for my friends who are highly educated Malay, and mostly Chinese, Indian & lain lain who wish to fleet the country for better future in their lives. Most of them have equip themselves with the latest knowledge and have a global knowledge.

Those people has a strong urge to compete, innovate, work globally and expand globally, has certainly feel most of the Malaysian is still corrupt, conservative and traditional.Sadly this is because of our poor education system and governance.

They say we should learn from the advance Asia country and ban the west. I say we combine both as a win-win situation. what is right and what is wrong? Can 100% guarantee what you’re educating us is the best? Have you really conduct efficient research based on what you taught us? Can other races besides Malay get a business start-up capital from the government? Can all races equally compete with each others?

So when the race is on? Are you brave enough to take the challenge and improve the future and stop receive candy, stand firm and without special any help?

Do we really have the freedom of speech and act here?

I believe that history is a lesson, traditional is the past, but for a better tomorrow we got to have a much greater plans if the nation is expected to gain 2020 vision.

No more drain talents in Malaysia.

Then Malaysian is Truly Asia. For the Malays who still struggle for the special rights, good for them. As for other races think globally, be competitive and stay ahead as always. You know you’re not having special rights. I think you know, but don’t give up.

I know Malaysia have no Malaysian Dream for you to be millionaire but don’t give up, look up on Michelle Yeoh, Jimmy Choo, or even Robert Kwok the billionaire who is 5x richer than Donald Trump.Think outside the box.

Hopefully in the future, my knowledge will be use to the max and work on the impossible in Malaysia because I love Malaysia.

Lastly, It will be great to see in the future: DSAI will be the PM, Uncle Lim or Uncle Karpal Sigh be the DPM or Datuk Nik Aziz the DPM…and hopefully other races including my favourite Sabahan, Sarawakians has the chance to be the PM and let the people decide. Like Barack Obama the first African American to be nominated as President. Have the best great person to take the leadership not because of race specification. Then we are trully advance.Advance Aliens watching Malaysian still stuggling from race issue must be laughing their ass off from the galaxy.Reflect on that.

    Assamualaikum YB Khalid Samad,

  78. 78 Chinese Sep 6th, 2008 at 12:43 pm

Pakatan Rakyat should stand up to its promise of being a fair party, fighting for the rakyat irrespective of races uphol;ding the NEP real original ocncept. Any false or suspicious move will make the chinese leaders within the coalition re-think their stand and may cause turbulance like forming one big party with MCA, Gerakan.MIC and other independent parties should they(MCA/Gerakan/MIC) have left BN to join PR or become independent parties along the way.

  79. 79 VFC Sep 6th, 2008 at 1:27 pm

PR’s ultimate goals should be unity and welfare of all Malaysians irrespective of race and religion, restore independent judiciary and police and have zero tolerance for corruption. Be a government by the people and for the people.

  80. 80 PJboy Sep 6th, 2008 at 5:28 pm

    Pls correct me if wrong.

I have noticed that BN-UMNO is always the one singing the racial politics. After 51 years they still condemn the non-Malays, especially the Chinese. After that, it will be the Indians, the Sabahans & Sarawakians. MIC-MCA-& other neglected BN-components (except for some it’s core leaders) keep silent. Another thing is, no Rakyat of Malaysia owe the BN-UMNO for a living. They owe us instead, for the past 51 years. More so the Sabahans & Sarawakians. All the rich resources of these 2 states benefited the Fed-Gov…which is BN-UMNO rule. Because of the 51 years rule, BN-UMNO has been brainwashed it is their birth-right. It is not about the Malays, Chinese or Indians, etc. It is only for the mere survival of BN-UMNO & their racist leaders.

Just look at Dubai & what the oil-$ has bring for the people. This was in just a short 10 years or after the last Gulf War (Iraq invasion of Kuwait). To give a perspective, over 20% of the world’s tower cranes are currently operating in Dubai. I am not saying is a very good thing ie the development of Dubai, look at it in the view of an economic perspective at the moment rather than environmental. In comparison, look at what the oil-$ of over 30 years brought us. In comparison, yes, Dubai oil-$ is far greater than Malaysia. But this is not the issue.

Whether it is PR or BN…our country need a 2-party system in Parliament.

    MAGENDRAN,

I am appaled to see your unbecoming comments.I wonder if you are an Indian or some sort of UMNO/BN mole in here?Indians in Malaysia by and large are quite a docile lot, therefore to see such harsh words coming out from you is puzzling.Let me assume, you are indeed a Malaysian of Indian ethnicity by the name of Magendran.Even if you feel that you have been made a victim by this evil raced based policy,It is wrong on your part to curse all the malays, dont generalize people. There are definitely lots of nice and kind malays out there.Instead if you had shared your whatever bitter experience you had gone through,a lot of readers might symphatize with you including the malays.By cursing and swearing blatantly certainly not going to help our cause. You must understand that the malays are not totally to be blamed for the present state of affairs in our beloved country. It is the system which had been adopted by our govt and UMNO that had led to the present unfortunate state of affairs. This evil system cannot be dismantled over night, the inherent fear in some uninformed and less motivated malays will prevent that.So we need to take a soft approach and be a little patient. As you can see many of our malay brethren have now realized the need for a change in the system for a better Malaysia for all citizens of Malaysia.

Dont feel you are the only victim of this evil raced based policies. There are many out there,in one way or another had to endure such injustices.I went through it as a student then later on in the govt sector,my cousins, father, neighbours and friends too went through so much of obsatcles .But I still have some good malay friends, because on the ground people are nice.I dont like to generalize all the malays for the fault of some iiresponsible people. So by you swearing and cursing all the malays,is not going to do any good.Instead show respect and you will be reciprocated with respect too.We are all now striving as Malaysians too see a better, united and a vibrant Malaysia,so lets be patient and kind.Remember truth and justice will ultimately prevail. Therefore show some magnanimity and come out and apologize to our malay brethren for being so harsh with your comments.I am sure if you are a responsible Indian Malaysian you will do it,otherwise I may assume you are a BN mole out to destabilize the peace here.God bless!!!
