Malaysia belongs to all races, says Anwar

From The Star Online

BUTTERWORTH: While protecting the rights of the Malays, the Chinese and Indians must also be given an assurance on their citizenship and position in the country, said Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Permatang Pauh Member of Parliament said the country belonged to all races and not to just one community.

“With such an assurance, it does not mean that you will be sacrificing the rights of another community,” he said during a breakfast gathering with Permatang Pauh PKR Wanita members in Yayasan Aman in Penanti yesterday.

Anwar said when Independence was declared on Aug 31, 1957, the Malays, Chinese and Indians were assured the freedom of speech and freedom to form associations.

“Now, when you say you disagree (with your political leader) you get threatened. The true spirit of Merdeka is no longer present.

“What is the meaning of Merdeka when we are still ruled by our own community?” he asked.

The newly elected Opposition Leader also said Malays should support leaders who abhorred corruption and those who were fair to all communities.

He said political leaders should also refrain from making racist remarks that would make other races feel threatened, adding that it was unfair to blame one community for the economic slowdown.

Anwar said Merdeka also meant giving an assurance towards the nation’s security, which he noted was “sadly not addressed in Budget 2009.”

many malay esp hardcore UMNO supporter think and feel that that u are culprit and traitor to our own race(Malay)..
u r letting go Malay special right and dignity to be popular and to gain suppport from other races for ur own interest.this is direct correlation of brainwash indoctrinated by UMNO

    WTF that kind of mentality!!

I am malay, and i strongly feel that u won’t betray MALAY and ISLAM, because that is the greatest SIN as MALAY have been giving mandate to u to voice out and to solve thier problem. it is an AMANAH, u should know better as ur religious study is better than me.

despite the need to preserve Malay dignity, if I was elected as a leader like you now, absolutely i will also look after the need of other races i.e Chinese and Indians and others as well because we as a leader, must act fairly to all people under our administration.. once again AMANAH is the issue.. as a muslim whom believe The Judgement Day, every act/thought/speech we done during our life will be asked by Allah. None will be mislooked or spared..

on this base I believe u should continue what u r doing now, keeping the malay dignity and islam at its place, without sidelining other race. unless u r lack of Iman(only Allah knows better)..

yes, MALAYSIA belong to all races. we have to admit that fact. this is not the Tanah Melayu or Malaya anymore..

YB DSAI,do the right thing first, and pray that ALLAH will always Guide you..
your supporters will always stand firm behind you, dun worry!
many Malaysians nowadays are more matured and rational and more open in discussing politics. this bunch of people actually are ur loyalist n hardcore supporter.

    Dato Seri.

Salam Ramadan. Yes, indeed, in this country, the ruling party (read UMNO) considers disagreement as a big “sin”. To them, if you disagree with them, you must be wrong…

..and one more glaring thing…their values/actions contradict what Islam espouses. This has put Muslims/Malays in the state of disrepute…people of other faiths and religions have little respect for us, Muslims. When those in power do something against their fellow Muslims/Malays contradicting the basic human needs, let alone Islamic, we wonder the state of their faith.

To you Dato Seri, our best and only hope for a brighter, freer, prosperous, and harmonic Malaysia.

Best of wishes en-route to Putrajaya.

Sdr Anwar, congrats for your return to the August House.

The sleepyhead PM is genuinely lacks the required leadership quality to lead the country. He condones corruption and allows reacist cards to be played. Clearly, he is so weak that all people in his camp are misbehaving.

The rakyat is already up to breaking point and AAB and his gang are still ignoring them, not understanding their sentiments.

We really hope that Sdr will take over on 916. We trust, there are still some unright MPs in BN who are already fed up with the sleepyhead and his gang of barbarians. 50 years is not a short time. For a person born in 1957, we simply cannot accept the fact that he still needs a “tongkat”, still dependent on his parent. For a nation that has achieved independence 50 years, we have no excuse to allow people like Ahmad Ismail and dozens of other UMNOputras to openly challenge the spirit of Merdeka, hurting racial harmony. They are trying to derail the nation from achieving progress and better living standards for the rakyat. These people are anti-nationals, scumbags which only burden and destroy our beloved Malaysia!

Let People Power prevails, Sdr. Anwar!

as a Malaysian chinese, we already forgave him after all he has gone thru. he is now a wiser man and has accepted us as a Malaysian unlike those in UMNO now. i think not all UMNO members like what the Govt. is doing now, as you can see in the P44 by-election whereby few of them didn’t even bother to vote for the BN/UMNO candidate.

so najib manukau, the people of P44 has spoken and so does Malaysians of all races have shown their support to DSAI, whom has taken the trouble to show up by the thousands in P44 that over shadowed the BN/UMNO parasites.

If Malaysia belongs to all races, does all races belong to one another? Do we see these things happening, like what musketeers had said : all for one, and one for all. Just by saying that Malaysia belong to all races, it means that there are demarcation lines between races, and these lines must be ascertain, and determined that they are being accepted by all races involve. In other words, a new kind of social contract is needed just to make everybody happy.

    Rahman Rizal Reply:

I think we should not have any demarcation between races.

Lets say there is only one race — Malaysian race.

Whatever our culture — Malay, Indian, Chinese, Kadazan, Iban — we are all Malaysians… and whatever our religion — Islam, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu — this also part of our identity as Malaysians.

We should not fear each other’s race or religion. We must learn to love each other as brothers and sisters.

This is the way to go lah bro.

The Courage to Build a New Malaysia.
    (Keberanian Membina sebuah Malaysia Baru.)

    (Versi Bahasa Melayu dibawah)

The year is 2008. This is the year most Malaysians finally woke up from a deep slumber. Most Malaysians were just too busy earning their living and building up their lives to take notice that times have changed and the idealism spouted by our founding Fathers have still not been accomplished for this country even today.

It was not so long ago in 1957 and then for our fellow East Malaysians in 1963 when the ideals and dreams preached by the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj (Bapa Kemerdekaan and Bapa Malaysia) for Malaysia were first announced and was greeted with joy in the hearts and minds of all Malaysians. The late Tunku Abdul Rahman had a dream and ideals, just like Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and many others including the prophets over the history of mankind.

Many a times such dreams were hijacked and led astray under the guise of nationalistic, racist and religious idealism by so called politicians and self declared and appointed righteous and religious persons (Little Napoleons). Individuals who have risen to continue some of such idealisms are gagged, isolated, bankcrupted, blasphemied, rehabilitated or worst jailed, for it is deemed not in consonance with the dreams and idealism of the elected parties agendas.

    cont’d at http://patek1472.wordpress.com

    (Versi Bahasa Melayu)

Yes. Malaysia belongs to all Malaysians born & bred. Why is it so difficult for these MPs to understand this??? Knowing that being an MP you’ll always be in the news & to make that racist remark for all to hear means its done knowingly…! PM did not choose a stupid MP to be an MP….!

By making this racist remarks is it gonna get better for BN & UMNO..? As usual our PM is just slapping the hand only. Go get an Indian or a Chinese to make a racist remark on these BN goons & see what the hell will happen to them…….!

For me the PM is a lousy leader. Look at the BN & UMNOs component overall behaviour & attitude & remarks..! Its like the PM cannot disipline & control his students anymore. They are worst than Hooligans…!

By the way why is ACA so…. into catching Puspakom & others while we the rakyat, especially me want to know about the report made against the PM & DPM by an UMNO member. ACA qiuzz these 2 goons or not ? What happened? Pls follow up.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, congratulations on your win. I personally don’t care about your personal life but i know that you CAN govern Malaysia. You’ve been there before & you know the inside BN tactics. A lot of investors are NOT investing into Malaysia. They are just waiting & seeing…! My husband & i have big business here & overseas & creating jobs opportunity. 100% Malaysian owned company. And when we go for these meetings they ask, “How’s Malaysia situation?”

    You tell me “How arh….?”

I don’t care…! I want a better Malaysia & Malaysia is home to me & my family…! Please become a Malaysian Prime Minister..!

    Thank you.

The one who call and shouted in dewan rakyat “Balik Cina and Balik India” they themselve must balik ke hutan (jungle) because they are not civilize, educated and fit enough to be in their position…what a shame and disqualified canditates..

Think about the olympic badminton game spirit, when comes to fighting spirit of getting the gold medal aren’t our hero fighting for the fame of Malaysia? If he is not being political pressure by BN, I personally thinks he can achieve the gold medal..not only the winner deserve the datukship the man behind the trainer shall deserve one too.

A move in the right direction..all Malaysians should not feel threatened in their homeland.
After half a century, a thought in every rakyat’s mind, immaterial of their race origin, is to work towards a happier and stronger Malaysia…we are in a ship together, we swim or sink together!
Matter of fact, we should be making a call, “Balik Malaysia!” There are so many good and qualified Malaysians living overseas…not of their liking. They were forced to migrate due to inevitable circumstances created by the racist UMNO led govt. Should’nt they be invited back to contribute their expertise in strengthening the country further? Besides, it is also their birth right if they chose to return.
As the world becomes more globalized, dual citizenships is an acceptance of the day.
I sincerely hope, future generations will not be put under the strain of racialism.

If Malaysia were to belong to certain race, then it would be the Orang Asli and not the Malays,Chinese , Indians etc..

Say goodbye to BN’s racial politic for good and let’s move on and regain respect and honour as a true democratic country to the world.

It’s indeed a blessing to our country that we have people like DSAI,LGE,Karpal and LKS whose willingness to sacrificed themselves for the sake of others. Lim Guan Eng went to jail defending a Malay.DSAI intention to bring unity amonsgt all races in Malaysia were labelled as betraying the Malays. It doesn’t make sense at all.

To the BN , especially UMNO, stop your racial politic and please leave those kids from Uitm to do what they ought to do as a students. They are our future leaders and please do not taint their brain with your racial ideology.

SALAM DSAI, COURAGE TO ALL IN YOUR SPIRIT OF TRUTH & RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR THE MAKING OF A NEW DAWN OF MALAYSIA COME 0916

In 2004 GE11, the Malaysian Voters have had given the PeeM AAB 90% of the seats in Parliament with a Mandate of almost full support but what had he done to Malaysia, with his arrogance & ungratefulness, he tried to oppress & betray the Rakyats and mismanage the Government and suppressed the MSM News and spun lies and deceits. What could PeeM AAB ever do anything to Ahmad Ismail??? As he himself professes & shares like-minded with Ahmad Ismail the same common seditious thoughts.

Light-up the Candles now and but justice for all ISA detainees come the new dawn of Malaysia soon.

Where is the justice & freedom of expression because all our MSM News are suppressed or spun, where have the Truth and Merdeka gone to, perhaps the goons under BN Government, ok??? Malaysia is going backwards after 51 years instead of going forward under the Racist UMNO, calling the “Chinese Squatters” to leave and “Babi Cabinet” if Anwar wins Permantang Pauh and if he forms the Pakatan Rakyats’ Federal Government. What independence is there when there is none but a Police State in the making and where is the Justice for Altantuya and those in the ISA detention without trial or rights of appeal to seek natural justice???
The UMNO Government is afraid that more cans of worms will be spilled by RPK and therefore they banned his blogsite which is a futile attempt to block information in this IT age, of course this is because of this Present Moronic Government is corrupt and dirty therefore on the pretext of helping the Rakyats, they could extract, swindle and plunder more money from the Budget Deficit and with most of the Deficit Money coming from Petronas. Look for example at the Crystal Mosque’s and Mariner Club’s Fiasco in Terengganu’s Billions in Wang Ehsan, Billions had been lost as white elephants. The cancellation of the Johore Scenic Bridge, Penang Second Bridge and LRT Projects at the whims and fancies of the Flip Flop, Incompetent and Sleeping PeeM at the last minutes is wasting Multi Millions Ringgits in Public Funds had shown proof of the PeeM’s mismanagement of the Government and wastage of the Public Financial Resources and all these wasted funds could not be salvaged to aid and assist the Malaysian Poor Citizens of all races. If Malaysia still keep him in power it will further damage and erode the Wealth of our Nation and our National Wealth could be decimated in no time.
The same could happen to all the empty promises of aid and help to the Rakyats these could all be lip service only unless it is monitored by reputable NGOs. On the irreversible Food Prices inflation, the unnecessary Moronic previous price hike on Petrol & Diesel had caused great permanent damage to the Food Price Structure and even if the price cut to Petrol and Diesel revert to their original prices prior to their hike, it will not revert the Food prices back to their original state and only the PeeM is to be solely blamed for his unwarranted Fuel Price Hike. His 2009 budget did not help the Rakyats’ quelled their immediate hardship suffered nor did that help them solve their Transport Problems immediately with multiple schemes but none available immediately with all the empty rhetorics but nothing concrete that could solve their immediate problems after years of neglect from this incompetent sleeping PeeM. As it is he is still sleeping and still unaware of what the 27 Million Rakyats wanted, needed and aspired to have coming soon??? Come Sept 16, 2008 send him home to sleep forever he is no longer needed.

    Salam..
Being me, growing up in a multiracial family…i see racism is a selfish thought!
My father, a Malay have told me once,
“U dont judge people with their colours…it’s the heart that matters..”
Think about those who have mixed parentage???Do they have to choose?
Seriously, no more racism remarks by any MP…they should set a role model to youngsters!!
Clear this racist thot out of our head!
Together we stand to make Malaysia a better place to live…

    Dear Dato Seri,

God has raised you up like Joseph in the bible who was thrown in the prison, and later released, ultimately became the prime minister of Egypt in the olden days. It will happen to you too.It is absurd to see the fellow who claimed to commit sin with you, along with others planning to cast stones to kill you like in the old testament! That itself proves something is terribly wrong.Let the person who has no sin cast the first stone as been advised by Jesus Christ.Do not fear, only be strong ,stay humble, see the malaysians as one family and God almighty will raise you up to further heights in due time.Let the nation be build on righteousness. Praying for you.(http://malaysianvision.blogspot.com)

After 51 years of merdeka it saddens me to see that we are still having immature and irresponsible leaders who are trying to polarise our society instead of uniting. The worse is,the chief executive of the nation is endorsing all these. How cruel of these leaders to keep saying the non-malays are`immigrants’,squatters, pendatang and so forth. If these racist leaders can for a second put themselves in the non-malay shoes, they would understand how inhuman they are.Is this what their religion taught them?Is this what their culture taught them?Have they forgotten that independencs was also fought by our non-malay forefathers?Have they forgotten that the non-malays have also contributed immensely to the development of our nation, which benefited the malays through the severely flawed NEP?

If there were to be a war, wont the non-malays defend the soverignty of the nation too?Sad to see we have leaders who stoop so low in life by using racial slurs,so much for `muhibbah’ and `bangsa Malaysia’.Can’t these UMNO scums see how they are destroying the delicate social fabric of our society?Cant they see how race based politics have resulted in Malaysia losing it’s competitiveness? Can’t they see the brain drain taking please where Malaysia is losing her brightest brains to other countries? What they didnt want the British colonial masters do to them, they are now doing to the non-malays.By blatantly discriminating the non-malays these UMNO scums are only exbhiting their arrogance, poor upbringing, low self esteem and an uncultured mentality. The only hope we Malaysians now have is for PR to take over the helm of the govt as soon as possible and restore the dignity of our nation in the eyes of the world.I also suggest that the PR re-invent our school education system and stop islamisation of our schools and improve the standard of our education system so that the need for more tamil and chinese schools does not arise.I also suggest that PR govt re-invent our school history books so that those young minds will learn also the contribution and sacrifices of the non-malays to the building of our nation.Lets all focus our energy on nation building and not indulge in racism,as this will not augur well for the well being of the nation.Multi-culturalism was once a pillar of strength of our nation and was the envy of the world and today it is under threat by a racist regime. So lets all right thinking Malaysians rise to the occasion and voice out our unhappiness and defend our delicate social fabric and put our nation on the world map as a united, intelligent and a vibrant nation.God bless the nation, and my best wishes to DSAI.

In my previous post, I understand that Malaysia has had a race based government, but unfortunately the system was not working in bringing together all to work together in building a strong Malaysia.

If one race has preferential treatment, how do you think the remaining races feel?

Do you think the remaining races would have any inclusive ideologies if one gets more legal benefit than another because of their race? Inequity is divisive and brings about suspicions and hidden discontent.

The Chinese are putting their trust in Anwar. The Indians are putting their trust in Anwar. The Malays are putting their trust in Anwar.

He is probably the only Malay capable of bringing all races together in unison.
Not even Badawi can do it without the help of the MCA or MIC…

Without doubt, this is a historic, and when Anwar wins, it will be the first time Barisan Nasional has lost the power and support of the people.

This September, will be Malaysia’s Renaissance and a time to believe that Anything is possible….I can not wait!

Property sold . Adat istiadat fading away, where`s the inang, zapin, joget n culture gone. Their moral wow !!! with mat rampage, pusat seranti etc. What had they to be proud of the UMNO. Not even one SCHOOL to educate the Malaysian people. The British built Malay Reservation, Todi shop, licence opium store, one english school, Jaga Raja2 and ramai kaya raya maruah tip top, Sekarang kebanyakkan miskin papa kedana, sanggup buat apa saja nak hidup… Pemimpin2, penguasa2, broker2 yang boleh dibeli…….Lebih lagi PKNP. The UMNO busy looking after the MCA, Gerakan, MIC, PPP……
Pemimpin seperti DSAI semasa jadi TPM tiada harta, PM Mahatuhir ada Ladang Kuda etc di Argentina, Menteri lain ada harta merata dunia . Come on man wakeup see 4 yourself what is HAPPENING. You need Someone to tebus your maruah back.

To me…all races are accepted as Malaysian…no one should be neglected or left behind…we should make sure all races to be at the same level and to have their share of the nation wealth…not only to let the strong races to win everything….that is the way we maintain our social harmony, by not by letting everybody caniballizing each other…but, this sad to say this is the only land the Malays had…there’s no other in the whole world…the Chinese still have Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China while the Indian have India, Sri Lanka…and these special races have a big representive in the other big countries too….we Malays only ask for the status-quo to be remain like that…but all races still have the same right…I bet you have seen a Chinese scold kow2 a Malay if they’ve done something not right to them…there’s no special treatment for Malays…ketuanan Melayu is only on the land…but not on everything else…Malaysia should be remain as the land of Malays, but accompanied by Chinese and Indian as the main races…the different Malaysia with the other country is the Chinese is the second largest community which represent around 30% of the people…it is a big community and have the political power as well…not to mention the dominancy in the economy…i think the Malays have gave up so much thing for others…there’s no issue on equality or not…for the equation of my previous statement of which is about the ratio of the student who should qualified to further their studies base on merit and quota is system, i think it should be like 5 chinese, 3 malays and 2 indians right…that is just my share of thoughts…

It really sounds good, only problem is what exactly are the assurances given by PKR to the rakyat of Malaysia? It is not stated on how equality & fairness will be practiced. I really wish to know what are the exact plans they have in mind; in ensuring all races in the country get a fair share in all aspect of our livelihood. One good example, can they accept a leader of different race to lead the Pakatan Rakyat in a set of schedule base on the population percentage? Maybe a Malay to lead for 3 terms then a Chinese to lead for 1 term and then an Indian to lead 1 term and so on. Now this is what I call fair and assurance to all races. Can we ever do that? Can Malaysia do that? Are we ready to do that? Are we politically mature enough to do that?

The last I would want is another political party running the country with talks only; which basically gets us back to square one. It would have been a total waste of the people’s effort and time, not to mention the country’s time.

To labu sayong, it is disappointing to see that the Malay community view the chinese as having options of going to other countries such as singapore, hongkong, china & taiwan. Please be reminded the local chinese are not second class citizenship in malaysia, and the local chinese do not wish to go anywhere, they just want to stay in malaysia as they are MALAYSIAN. Born in Malaysia & Grew up in Malaysia. If your stand is PKR stand , then i need to think again…. so tell me if this is PKR stand! I really need to know….

Nobody says about other races than Malay are second class citizens…and nobody says about Chinese and Indian can migrate to any countries that are base on their races which i had mentioned before…it’s just we Malays are not big people as you guys…we would like a land of our own too like u and your ancestors do have…all we ask is Malaysia to be acknowledge as the land of Malays but other races will and must have the same rights as the Malays and there should be no class of citizenship as long as they they hold the passport of this country regardless of any race, any religion, anything…I hope i’ve made myself clear about my stand which represent most of the Malay people…not the UMNO people…not the PKR people…may be the PAS people…hehe…by the way,PKR de Facto leader doesn’t represent the Malays…he just represent himself and his dream…thats all

Labu Sayong, you just dont get it, Malaysia is the home of local chinese. Malaysia is the home for the local chinese. STOP thinking that the local chinese assiociate Singapore, HK, Taiwan China as our own country! It is SAD that Malays think so! I think there can never be any multiracial unity in the country until you Malays stop thinking that way about chinese!
I am very sorry, I really really need to think again….!
